Short Summary
Hi there! We are The Batman Chronicles team, and we are looking to fund our non-profit, original web-series. The series is a realization true to the comic books. Dark and gritty, but not afraid to stay true to the source material.
Our Bruce Wayne is young, and doesn't have all the answers to his past. He is still struggling with the inner guilt that stems from the night his parents were murdered. His choice to become "The Batman" was to be his atonement. Our series begins with Batman not far along in his crime-fighting career. He's not perfect, he's naive, and he has a lot learn.
Now, a new crime syndicate has taken over the streets of Gotham: The Red Hood Gang. Batman must figure out who the leader of this gang is, and take them down. But he can't do it alone. He will need the help of Lieutenant James Gordon and other allies. When he comes to face the leader of the Red Hood Gang, it marks the start of a never ending tango.... (HA HA HA HA). He will have to go to the farthest reaches of his skill to take down this criminal mastermind and save what is left of the city's heart.
In the director's chair is Joe Petruccio, a graduate of The School of Visual Arts (BFA Film & Video), and professional editor in the television industry.
Bruce Wayne/Batman will be played by Daniel Petruccio, an actor who has performed for film as well as in stage plays.
The Joker will be played by Anthony Misiano, a seasoned stage actor and independent film actor/director ("Moonflower"). He is a revered Joker costumer, and has appeared on Reddit, Flickr, 9Gag, Tumblr, Imdb, G4TV, and at conventions nationwide.
Jim Gordon will be played by Bob Keiffer, a popular Batman costumer.
Writer, Michael Lupia, is a Film and Television student at Boston University.
The Project is important to us because making it has been a dream of ours for years. Every single person on the team is a die-hard Batman fan. We want nothing more than to show the world THE Batman we grew up wtih, the world from the comics that we love that has never been truly realized on film.
Helping us fund this series would mean the absolute world to us, as Batman is such a great passion of ours. We all think there is so much more to see with this character, so many more rich stories, than what has already been seen in other films that we would like to share. With your help, we will produce an amazing, quality product that every fan can be proud of.
What We Need & What You Get
We need at least $15,000. It sounds like a lot, but it is going to really good use. We need resources to make this thing as great as the hero it is portraying. This money will cover expenses such as visual effects, props, and transporting actors to the set. We will also need stunt coordinators, and want to be able to give batman his trademark car! (NOTE: This money will finance multiple episodes!!!)
Money will also go towards sets/locations crucial to making the series. Permits, set dressings, etc. can be costly, but they make all the difference in bringing a realistic Gotham to the screen.
Another essential element of the production that will be acquired with the money raised is film equipment for the team. We require more equipment than we currently own (dollies, lighting kits, sound equipment, etc.), and need funding for rentals. Everyone working with Shade's Productions has attended film school and is experienced with such equipment.

NOTE: Regarding the legality of the series
This is a 100% NON-PROFIT fan-made web series. We are making no revenue from the project. Any donations we receive on Indiegogo will directly fund the series. They will never go in anyone's pocket. And regarding our rights to make the series, Warner Bros. (owner of DC Comics/Entertainment) issued this statement regarding fan films/creations in 2004 that has been their policy ever since, a statement we strictly adhere to: "Warner Bros. definitely appreciates the enthusiasm and respect of its fans. We will continue to monitor the use of Warner Bros. properties as used in fan films. However, we will only consider taking action against such films that are either commercial in nature, are commercially exploited or otherwise engage in or depict inappropriate activity."
