ABOUT THE PROJECT:
The Dreaming Tree Foundation partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the #1 youth charity, because we share a commitment to America’s youth. Our goal was to put the next generation of talent to work behind the camera creating a feature film, starring celebrities (Mario Lopez (Extra); Christopher Gorham (Covert Affairs); and Kelly Rutherford(Gossip Girl) to raise millions of dollars for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s efforts to fight back against the high school drop out epidemic which claims 7,000 teens every day — 1 million teens every year.
The film will be in theaters late Summer/early Fall 2013 and then available on DVD, Pay-Per-View and instant download. But this is not your average movie —this is a movie with a surprise ending. Every theater ticket, every DVD that’s ordered, every rental or download, is actually a donation that will go right back to fund Boys & Girls Clubs of America! 80% of all the revenues (not profits, revenues) go to the BGCA!

THE MAKING OF THE STREAM:
Over 200 Boys & Girls Clubs of America teens from all over the United States, got the unique chance to work on our all youth film crew to produce, film and edit The Stream, a family comedy. Teens from all ages and backgrounds brought their unique perspectives and talents to the production. Many teens had never picked up a camera before let alone dreamt of making a feature film so Dreaming Tree Foundation enlisted the help of Dreaming Tree alumni to serves as on-set mentors, providing teens with training, instruction and encouragement.
Boys & Girls Club teens also got the chance to work with & direct Hollywood celebs: Extra host, Mario Lopez; Covert Affairs star Christopher Gorham and Gossip Girl’s Kelly Rutherford who lent their time & talent to star in the movie.

THE STREAM STORY
The Stream is a fun, comedy movie for kids and parents (and for anyone who loves the 80’s, Star Wars or is still a child at heart.) A long time ago… in the summer of 1981, a tragedy of epic proportions (a broken plastic bat) sends five friends on an epic adventure to the mall. All they have to do is follow The Stream and back. What could possibly go wrong? Encountering bullies, a nasty storm and mystical creatures, the friends will need the force of friendship to prevail. Part adventure, part growing-up, The Stream is in good company alongside The Sandlot, The Goonies, E.T., Home Alone, and A Christmas Story. The Stream is a fun, coming-of-age family comedy perfect for kids, parents and anyone who wants to reminisce about their childhood!

MEET THE PRODUCERS:
Dreaming Tree's mission is to transform the lives of teens -- inspiring confidence, responsibility, a passionate pursuit of college and a realization of their own potential -- through engaging them in REAL-WORLD filmmaking experiences. Teens involved in Dreaming Tree programs are not simply given a camera and turned loose, but instead they are apprentices who are mentored and given the tools necessary to create great films, and learn life skills along the way. Since 2002, our Fresh Films program has been engaging teens from across the United States in making short film, music videos and documentaries. We’ve worked with some notable talent like R&B superstar Usher; Dominic Monaghan (LOST), TV personality & author Maria Menonuos and Grammy-award winning singer Natasha Bedingfield. The Stream is the first (of hopefully many) feature films developed in partnership with a major charity to impact teen learning and fundraising for the youth charity programs.
