Bio: Born in a little river town in Ohio, went to college at the Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, where he studied musical theater, nearly froze one winter in Chicago before moving to New York, finally landing in the borough of Brooklyn. Writer and director of two feature films. Produced playwright and occasional actor.

"My mission is to make movies that tell the stories and reflect the lives of the people I grew up with, the people I learned from, and who have always supported my dreams and championed my work. My ultimate goal is to make a movie in almost every genre, set in the same small town, to show that even a place like Ironton, Ohio has a million great stories to tell. I may have moved to the city, but I still have the heart and the voice of a midwestern boy who watched ET every Friday for an entire summer."

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
What makes MickeyFisher different?
I think a person's background and experiences make them unique. I'm from a very small town on the Ohio river, grew up loving movies and acting in the theater. I have lived in Cincinnati, Chicago, and New York as well and have traveled the country from one side to the other multiple times.

I feel like the thing that makes me who I am, and what people will ultimately identify in and with my movies is heart. It may not be the best shot, or the most flashy, or intellectual, but it's always going to have an element of emotional truth in it, and my hope is that after every movie I make, you can see yourself in some part of it.

And, I hope to make you laugh, even in the dramas.

Here's another tip: rather than ask organizations for $1000 to screen your film, how about ask the organization to include your widget and a call-to-action message in their next newsletter to their members. Their membership base becomes your audience and potential funders. In exchange screen the film as a perk they offer their members. Rather than get $1K from one person, you get $1K (or more!) from lots of people. Then you have lots of fans, rather than just one. Does that make sense?
