TacoBot is a stackable coding robot designed for children aged 4+. Different functioning TacoBot is ready to play right after stacking. 

Kids are able to code TacoBot with screen-free coding and graphical (drag-and-drop) coding, which is perfect for promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills, helping kids learn STEM skills at a very early age while playing and having fun.

"Stackable" structure

TacoBot has different hats with sensors inside, with simple stacking and combination, children can create a robot with various functions. This design also enables TacoBot to bring all the joy of different robot toys together in one kit.

Voice feedback

TacoBot gives instant voice feedback once it's built, and responses to all the commands and stimulations. Thus the kids can better understand and interact with TacoBot.

Easy coding

TacoBot has two programming modes:  Screen-free coding and drag-and-drop coding, which makes TacoBot an ideal beginning for kids to learn to programme, and a good companion when kids want to go deeper in programming. 

With various functioning components and add-on equipment, TacoBot enjoys plenty of possibilities and provides endless joy to the kids.

Adding some equipment to TacoBot, children would discover lots of new ideas to play. A robot which can clean up the toys? Or two robots battle against each other?

Younger children can set TacoBot action path with the programming hat, such as to make TacoBot walk a maze. Want to challenge something complex with TacoBot, for example, sing a song and dance? Our drag-and-drop graphical programming software can easily meet the children’s needs.

TacoBot will support Android, iOS, and Windows.

From our experiences with children, we find that preschoolers have shown a deep passion for technology and creativity, but with weak hands-on ability, they encounter many difficulties when playing with existing blocks. We hope that there would be a product that allows children to freely, so children can better learn knowledge and experience the fun brought by technology. This is the original intention of TacoBot’s creation.

Design manuscript of TacoBot

With abundant accumulation and mature products in this field, RoboSpace is a company that specializes in developing children's STEAM education products. Zhuang and Liu are product designers who have studied in Germany. Meanwhile, they are also the teachers of community maker schools.

During the process of getting along with children, both parties have realized the importance of STEAM education for preschoolers, while the fitted products are scarce on market. In a discussion one year ago, Zhuang and Liu's ideas about modular robots matched with RoboSpace, so we established the TacoBot project team to develop cool STEAM products that are authentically suitable for preschoolers’ demands.

TacoBot team has more than 3 years of experience in STEAM education and STEAM education products. We have created several STEAM products and made success in crowdfunding. Our products have won the third prize in China-US Young Maker Competition and were given to Vice Premier Liu Yandong and former US Secretary of State Kerry as the national present.
