Synopsis: Every great story has a beginning, a middle, and an end. AUTUMN MIXTAPE is a collection of four short stories about four different relationships going through those stages.

Our first couple meet up one afternoon on the street. Connected by mutual friends, they recognize each other via pictures and stories, but this is the first time they've officially met. What starts off as an awkward conversation on a street corner between two strangers turns into an unforgettable date. Faced with the death of fall at the end of October, they decide to give it a grand farewell by experiencing everything good it has to offer in one night: candy apples, a costume party, riding bikes through leaves and making a perfect connection with someone entirely unexpected.

The second story finds a new couple in the longest, darkest night of their long term relationship. An admission of infidelity opens wide a crack in the foundation of everything they had built, and all that's left are two broken people in a one room apartment, trying to work it out.

The third story is about a new couple, coworkers at a neighborhood bar, closing down after a late shift. He is working through the aftermath of being cheated on, and she's a sympathetic ear. Over some celebratory end of the evening shots of Tequila, the two begin to blur and eventually erase the line that has kept their friendship and working relationship in tact.

The final story is about reconnecting. The couple in this story were high school sweethearts, fifteen years ago, before He moved away to college and broke off the relationship in the stupid way that teenage boys often do. A death in the family brings Her back to their hometown and the two are reunited for an evening at the local bar that extends into a long night of bittersweet memories, overdue apologies and passionate debates over hair metal and children's television. It's about discovering how far you've come by looking back at the person you had been. It's about making peace with the scars you've left and the ones that others have left on you.

Set in a small midwestern town at the end of October, AUTUMN MIXTAPE is a one of a kind romantic comedy. If you have ever been in love, hopefully you'll see yourself in it. If you haven't been in love, hopefully it will make you want to jump in, head first.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
What makes AUTUMN MIXTAPE different?
AUTUMN MIXTAPE is a movie about people trying to make a connection, trying to make amends and trying to make sense of the relationships in our lives. It takes the romantic comedy genre and takes out all the stupid stuff: the meet cutes, the contrived setups and the stupid coincidences and leaves behind the romance and the comedy.

It is about real people, who have the kinds of conversations that we all have, where you can go from debating over which version of Van Halen was better (the David Lee Roth version or the Sammy Hagar version) in one breath and be spilling out your heart in the next.

It is the kind of movie that no studio would ever make, but it also the kind of movie that most of us have lived. That's why it has to be made by somebody like me.

Hey, Mickey here. I'm a week and a half into editing the first story, and should have the whole rough cut done in another week. I think I'm going to go ahead and rough out the other story as well, before I go back and start fine tuning it before the sound mix and sending it off to the composers. My goal is to have both of these done by Christmas, when I start planning out the other two. It'll give me a good sense of where I can go with them, what's missing as far as the movie as a whole, and if any changes need to be made to those scripts.

I'll post a scene or two when I get them polished up a bit more, and put it in the private section, but for now, please enjoy this look at this great behind the scenes making of video, shot and edited by Brandon Withrow!

Hey, everyone! We finished shooting the second story a few days ago, and I've put up a new video with some images from it. I'll wait to cut a real trailer when I have all four stories. Until then, each one will have its own feel and look, much like the movie itself.

I'll be posting things throughout post-production and begin another round of fundraising soon for the other two stories. Thanks to everyone who joined up and who has supported the project! And, now the video...

AUTUMN MIXTAPE is now in production. A little over a week ago, we began shooting the first two stories of the movie, thanks to everyone who contributed through Indiegogo. To say thanks and show you what we've been up to, I made this little video to give you a first look.

As of today, we're finishing up shooting the second story. New video to come soon! Thank you again for helping me make this movie happen.

Hey, Everyone!
Well, the funding period has ended, and I didn't quite make even 10% of my targeted goal. But, all is not lost...

I didn't realize until a couple of days ago that anyone who contributed would have the option of going ahead and releasing the money to AUTUMN MIXTAPE. I decided that no matter how much money was released to me, I would go ahead and start shooting, and at least get two of the stories shot.

It means I won't be able to pay people a union-comparable day rate, and that everyone will have to work for travel/food/and lodging, but it it also means that at least the movie will get off the ground.

I plan to have two full stories shot by the first week of November. Shortly afterwards, I'll post a preview of those two stories, and once I'm able to show people half the movie, I'll do another round of fundraising through Indiegogo, later. I still plan to finish the entire movie within the next six months, and get out your copies and begin screening! Looks like I need to start scheduling screenings in New York and Syracuse!

Along the way, I'll be posting videos to you about the production, and from behind the scenes while we're shooting. The best part about indiegogo has been learning to involve your audience from the beginning, and I'm excited to keep that up.

I will be directing FRANKENSTEIN at a theater for the next two weeks, but I will be posting about the film directly after.

Thanks to everyone who contributed, joined up, became our friend, read and commented on the script, and has been a part of it so far. I can't wait to show you what we do.
