Soulsmith is the story of Ed Smith, a playwright who once had the Dublin theatre scene at his feet. His most recent plays however, have been critical disasters. We watch as his personal and professional lives crumble around him. For the first time, Ed has to look within himself in the hope that he can reconnect both with the people around him and with the audiences that once praised him.

We need to raise €12,000 to make Soulsmith the engaging and entertaining film we know it can be. There is a fantastic team in place, but we need donations to raise the production value of the film and to cover production costs so the film can reach it's potential. We will be shooting in Mayo and Dublin for a 3 week period from mid- April. We are all committed to delivering a film which reflects the work and passion behind it. We just need a little help to make sure this happens!

We believe not only in the script, but in young and enthusiastic film-makers who have dedicated themselves to this journey; the actors,who have embraced their roles ,and the crew, who are committed to making the film look and sound incredible. We are a young, dynamic and enthusiastic group of film-makers. Written and directed by Kevin Henry, and produced by Séamus Waters, Soulsmith will take in the rugged and rural terrain of Mayo as well as exploring the claustrophobic and hectic nature that can be associated with city life.

As seen in the video above, we have already held numerous rehearsals and read throughs. We have put in months of hard graft and feel that this story is ready to be transported to screen. The actors have really bought into the script and their individual characters, and would greatly appreciate any donations you can give to make sure the film does all their work justice.
