THE LIVE LUNCH SERIES needs you!
This Spring, we are collaboratively-generating a brand new multi-disciplinary show inspired by - and created for - the staff and clients of The Fortune Society, an organization devoted to assisting formerly incarcerated individuals toward becoming positive, contributing members of society.
The Live Lunch Series caters unique theatrical performance to workplaces during the lunch hour. Through plays devised specifically for individual organizations, Live Lunch aims to engage camaraderie and conversation within working communities and expose people to the possibilities of theatre. Following our successful premiere at the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation in August 2014, we are eager to further engage organizations and staff through these unique lunchtime events!
Our goal is to expand The Live Lunch Series to a variety of workplaces across New York and the United States. With YOUR help, we can change the narrative that theatre is for the elite and few, those with more time and more money, and share transformative theatrical storytelling with a variety of new audiences!

A majority of funds raised will go toward artist/team fees for the Series. If we exceed our goal, then we'll store the funds for the next Live Lunch!
What Next?
- After a hugely successful pilot, the project hopes to expand to include new artists (particularly playwrights, composers, and performers) and more workplaces (serving industrial/service, corporate, and non-profit workplaces).
- A database of artists will be established to keep a community of invested creatives involved as the Series expands to a variety of workplaces.
- The Series will ideally grow beyond New York City, with a keen eye toward unconventional work environments and communities lacking professional theater.
Here's what we're doing to keep Live Lunch alive for countless future performances:
- We're working on a "pricing plan" that would allow us to keep the project sustainable AND affordable.
- We've teamed up with a non-profit marketing expert to assist us in solidifying our marketing materials for presenting to corporate offices.
- We are applying to NYFA's Arts-Business Incubator with the Series in hopes of finding support for the project's sustainability.
- We actively seek grant opportunities that could assist us with this and future iterations of the project.
Let's spread LIVE LUNCH like PB&J!
