The closing of the Swiss consulates in Chicago and Toronto and the centralization of West Coast consular operations signals a reduced focus on the Swiss of North America. Our 1291 Campaign will provide the resources for the Swiss Center to fill this void.
Our 2014 strategic plan includes ways to provide resources for Swiss cultural projects intended to promote or preserve Swiss heritage in North America.
Swiss clubs in the United States and Canada will also have the opportunity to apply for a 1291 grant. We understand membership is aging. We want to provide the resources to help sustain and grow our heritage organizations.

The Swiss Center of North America
Founded in 1990, The Swiss Center of North America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located and incorporated in New Glarus, Wisconsin. The Swiss Center’s mission is to preserve and support the rich Swiss cultural heritage in Canada and the United States.
We do this by promoting Swiss organizations, clubs and festivals throughout North America, providing resources for those who wish to delve deeper into their Swiss past, fostering cultural, commercial and tourism relationships with Switzerland, and maintaining a robust on-line media presence
The Swiss Center is dedicated to connecting, archiving, showcasing, educating, promoting and celebrating Swissness in North America.

Das 1990 gegründete Schweizerische Zentrum Nordamerikas ist eine eingetragene gemeinnützige Organisation 501 (C) (3) in New Glarus, Wisconsin. Die Mission des schweizerischen Zentrums ist es: „Das reiche schweizerische kulturelle Erbe in Kanada und den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika zu unterstützen und zu bewahren.“
Dies durch die Förderung Schweizerischer Organisationen, Klubs und Festivals überall in Nordamerika. Es werden Mittel für diejenigen, die sich wünschen, sich intensiver mit ihrer schweizerischen Vergangenheit auseinanderzusetzen, bereitgestellt. Des weiteren werden kulturelle, geschäftliche und touristische Beziehungen mit der Schweiz gepflegt. Der Aufrechterhaltung einer robusten Online Medienpräsenz wird Sorge getragen.
Das Schweizerische Zentrum widmet sich dem Verknüpfen, Erreichen, Ausstellen, Weitergeben, Bewerben und Feiern der Swissness in Nordamerika.

Fondé en 1990, le Centre suisse de l’Amérique du Nord est un organisme à but non lucratif 501 (c)(3) basé à New Glarus au Wisconsin. La mission du Centre est de préserver et de soutenir le riche patrimoine culturel suisse aux États-Unis et au Canada.
Nous le faisons à travers la promotion des organisations, clubs et festivals suisses d’Amérique du Nord, à travers les ressources mises à disposition de ceux qui souhaitent plonger dans leur passé suisse, à travers la favorisation des échanges culturels, commerciaux et touristiques avec la Suisse et en maintenant une solide présence sur Internet.
Le Centre suisse est dédié à la célébration, la préservation et la promotion de la suissitude en Amérique du Nord.
