I’m Dan Miller, life coach and the author of 48 Days to the Work You Love, No More Dreaded Mondays and The Rudder of the Day. My passion is helping people find – or create – work that is meaningful, fulfilling and profitable.
My publisher, Thomas Nelson, is releasing the trade paperback version of Wisdom Meets Passion on August 28th, but we wanted to give you an opportunity to collaborate with us to spread this powerful message. We have produced a Special Edition Hardback Version of Wisdom meets Passion that won't be sold in stores. We're making it available to you first, here on Indiegogo.
This project is about the power of collaboration. I worked with my son Jared Angaza to write Wisdom Meets Passion - A book that talks about joining generations and philosophies. We also created a medallion that captures the essence of the book. You can wear it around your neck or put it in your pocket as a daily reminder to connect.

What is Wisdom Meets Passion About?
Wisdom meets Passion isn’t a movement or a new philosophy. It’s a reminder. A wakeup call. An outline to engage us in living a more extraordinary life. To help us become the very best of who we are.
To thrive.
We’ve got a plan that involves collaborating with you.
Ubuntu
There’s an old African philosophy that encapsulates the concept of collaborative living.
It’s called Ubuntu.
It’s the belief that we are all interconnected.
No matter our race, culture, creed or socioeconomic status.
My humanity is tied to yours.
We are each a collective of our personal relationships and experiences.
We’ve created a special medallion as a reminder of this.
THE CONCEPT
Many of us are clamoring for a more meaningful and purposeful existence. We want more out of life than the 9 to 5 job and a paycheck. We want to make an impact. We crave the extraordinary.
But we’re busy. More than ever before. It’s easy to forget that there are thousands of other people out there just like us that also want to live a more extraordinary and altruistically founded life. That’s where great little platforms like Indiegogo came from.
Remember when your favorite bands came together to make that epic song? Or that giant corporation came together with a great charity and profoundly impacted a community?
Powerful things can happen when we collaborate. Big and small. Matter of fact, most of the beautiful things we experience in life are as a result of collaboration. That’s where the magic happens.
But in a time of information and sensory overload, life happens. We get caught up in the moment and forget to collaborate. We forget that we are all interconnected, and when we work together, beautiful things can happen.
ABOUT THE BOOK
![Cover Cover]()
Baby boomers have relied primarily on wisdom to pave their way to success. Education, knowledge, investment strategies, 401ks and carefully contrived career paths were expected to lead to success in one’s golden years.
Seeing the overall failure of that formulaic approach to life, younger generations today have relied on passion as the guiding principle for their version of success.
The concept of “success” has transformed from a focus on financial gain to a focus on living a more extraordinary life, one that benefits humanity. We want to make the world a better, more peaceful place. We want to be “changemakers” and “social entrepreneurs." Security and stability are a lot less compelling than before. There’s more out there and we know it.
In short, we must foster wisdom, passion and collaboration if we truly want to live an extraordinary life and make a positive impact.
In Wisdom Meets Passion you’ll find some of these principles:
- How can I “make a difference” in the world today?
- Where do I find security?
- Is a college degree necessary for success today?
- How do I find – or create – work that matters?
- Can I be a social entrepreneur and do good while doing well?
- Why am I here?
- What if I’m ready for retirement and still haven’t lived my dream – is it too late?
Our goal is to get this book and medallion into your hands. We want you be able to inspire those in your center of influence – children, spouses, co-workers and those you meet on the street.
ABOUT THE MEDALLION
The medallion was designed as a collaboration between Jared Angaza and Hannah Woodard at KEZA, an ethical fashion label owned by Jared that operates in East Africa. You can visit the KEZA website at www.keza.com for more information.

The necklace itself is made from a durable, black nylon cord, randomly knotted and looped around itself, as a representation of humanity. The cord loops through the center of the Ubuntu Medallion, representing the core of our ethos as a united society.
The necklace was assembled by Nepali refugees through Hope Rise, a Nashville, TN based charity assisting refugees integrating into Nashville. Every medallion sold affords them more income, dignity and options.
You can wear it on your neck, carry it in your pocket, pay it forward or hang it from your rearview mirror. Go wild with it.
We’ve put together some killer packages that aren’t just for you to read the book and open your head to the possibilities, but for you to share it with others – the true message of Wisdom meets Passion. Join us on our journey.
Official Book Release of Wisdom Meets Passion: August 28rd, 2012.

We'll leave you with one of the team's favorite quotations...
The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both. James Michener
