Short Summary
Here's our story and why this is important to continue to the raise the bar in our community. Café con Leche was founded on the basis that strong communities need a central gathering space. Jordi Carbonell, originally from Barcelona, Spain, and wife Melissa Fernandez, a second generation resident of Southwest Detroit, had the vision that this community could benefit from a café that recognized and reflected the diversity of the neighborhood. This is just not an ordinary coffee bar but a coffee experience that showcases the diversity of Detroit through our offerings and how our synergies between cultures can great something great.
This campaign will help us continue to raise the bar and demostrate that a speciality coffee bar with local products (coffee, baked goods, artisanal Latin American goods) can propser in Detroit. We need funds to finance the enhancement of product and equipment so that we maintain our level and commitment to our customers and community. We work ensuring we donate to local non profits, provide venues for Make a Wish foundation, local artists among others to show our commitment to community and customers through our stellar product line.
Our Gaggia does wonders but it would be great for a replacement espresso machine that we could refine the extraction and we could use for back-up or for growth. This will run us between $2,000 to $5,000.00. You can be a part of increasing our value prop by getting behind the new machine to pull a shot youself. A commerical blender would be quicker for customers and help the decibel count in the cafe. Like all cafes, a 5kg roaster would be great to showcase the roasting procoess to our community since many residents travel to the areas were coffee is grown. This would be a nice enhancement to the overall experience.
Here's the breakdown:
- We need another espresso machine to maintain the quality that our customers demand $4,000.00.
- A commerical blender at $800.00
- A small 5kg coffee roaster at $5,000.00
