Sinister Wisdom
Sinister Wisdom, a multicultural lesbian literary & art journal, celebrates 36 years of continuous publishing in 2013. Founded in 1976 in Charlotte, NC, Sinister Wisdom publishes three issues a year. Each issue features lesbian-feminist essays, poetry, fiction, and non-fiction.
In mid-November, Sinister Wisdom will publish Sinister Wisdom 87, the final issue of 2012. Sinister Wisdom 87 is dedicated to Adrienne Rich; Rich co-edited Sinister Wisdom with her partner Michelle Cliff from 1981 until 1983. Sinister Wisdom 87 features an array of prominent lesbian writers remembering and reflecting on Adrienne Rich's life and legacy.
In 2013, in addition to publishing three regular issues of Sinister Wisdom, Sinister Wisdom will launch Sinister Wisdom Classics, a series of iconic books by lesbian-feminist writers. Sinister Wisdom will return these books to print as a way to nurture and stimulate dialogue within the lesbian community.
