MORGANA REASIGNAMENT OPERATION IN THAILAND
Dear friends...
Hi there! this is Morgana. As you must know now I´m a trans gender woman who is passing trough one of the most important moments in my life: my sexual reassignment surgery!!. This is not a simple wish... It's really completely a great need. Just so I can have a full life and find peace I've looked since I have memory. So I can finally to live with peace and to get focus on my vocation: Singing. Because of my condition I have not been easy to find work. But I trust that by carrying out all the necessary changes, I can achieve a full life and help more women like me succeed. This operation is delicate, so I was looking for the best option to do this surgery. Then I knew about the PAI clinic, in Thailand. Due to the large number of reassignment surgeries practiced in this country, doctors have extensive experience. Which makes me feel safe, and I trust everything is going to be fine... I wanted to be part of this documentary as well to show other transsexual women about this process and encourage them to pass trough this hard moment with full of confidence and happiness... life is just to began for us! We just need an opportunity!

MORGANA´S DOCUMENTARY
WHO IS MORGANA?
Morgana is a woman who was born into the wrong body. She is an opera singer and has this beautiful voice, which has conquered an incredible amount of fans in Mexico. She has been through many difficult situations, just for defend her own identity. Morgana is a transgender woman. She has a conviction: to be happy. She has a clear objective: her sex reassignment surgery in Thailand to be able to live fully and devote herself to her passion: singing.
WHY THIS CAMPAIGN, WHY A FILM?
This campaign seeks funds for her sex reassignment surgery in Thailand and for filming her documentary. We make this film for all these people in Latin America who don’t know there is any other solution, and they feel trapped in the body who doesn’t belong to them. This movie shows, through the experience of Morgana, transsexual women as heroines, a deep look at the value of this community. This film reflects the heart and the struggle of thousands of transgender women in Latin America and worldwide.
WHAT DO WE NEED?
Our intention is to raise a MINIMUM of $25,000 so that we can make and complete this film in Thailand and bring the opportunity to Morgana to reach her freedom and start her life. Showing all the trans women that this can be possible without danger. If we raise more then $25,500, then we will be able to have an even higher production value.
This money would cover the 1 stage of the project:
- Her sex reassignment surgery in Thailand
- Travel expenses
- Camera and filmmaking equipment
- Food for the people working on the crew
Unfortunately, if we don't reach this goal then we would not be able to make this film in Thailand (where it truly belongs) and the operation has to be cancel. If we did not reach the goal by the deadline we will save the money and keep raising it privately through other sources and contribute as much of my own money as possible to make this film as soon as I reach it.

Loud and clear, we believe that this story needs to be told. This film is not just for the ego... this film will make history and will give some hopes to other womens in her same situation.

WHY THAILAND?
Morgana have made an intense research. The results where that in Thailand have the majority of surgeries related to sex assignment with successful results. We found out also that Preecha Aesthetic Institute is the first multidisciplinary reconstructive center. We were even more attracted at known that PAI is the pioneer in Sex Reassignment Surgery, Thailand since 1980. The number of success rate is over 95% without any complications and have been increasing yearly. This is an important step not only in Morgana ´s life!!!!
DIRECTOR STATMENT AND BIO
My name is Flavio Florencio. I came to this page by accident and I start today with a campaign that has become the center of my life now!. When I moved to Mexico City I was impressed by the world of transvestites and their shows. I saw two opposite worlds, played by the same people. At night they were applauded by the public like big starts but during the day these same artists were battered, held in this society and living in a world without opportunities. I started doing a casting for all transvestites’ bars of this city with the aim of go deeper into this world. I never took my camera, it was always a conversation between them and me. One night I met Morgana and be dazzled when I heard her sing... Her life was very sad... Why a talented woman with a beautiful voice and with 5 languages spoken had to be going trought so much pain? One day later I took my camera and I was ready to start filming her story. My first question was: What is your greatest wish your life? Her answer was: My operation...but its not a wish Flavio ... it is a must. This film comes from the personal experience of morgana but is a reflection of the hundreds of women transvestites, transgender and transsexuals who Imet in the past two years.
Flavio Florencio (Argentina, 1979).
He study Arab philology at the University of Barcelona and developed a passion for the cinema of these regions. Decided to study documentary filmmaking. After participating in a number of film projects he volunteered at the Zanzibar International Film Festival. This experience inspired him to organize the first African Film Festival in Latin America AFRICALA. He moved to Mexico City, where earned international recognition. He has served as a jury member in a number of international film festivals. Flavio has traveled to 47 countries throughout his life. As a filmmaker his first short fiction ¨And God willed ̈ was screened in many international film festival around the word including South Africa, Sarajevo, Cannes among others. Wonder Trans is his first long documentary.
