WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
"Get Me Randy" is a comedic film about a sharp-witted teen, know-it-all teen who believes the adolescent mind is wasted on sex. He is forced to face his simpleminded and lewd classmates when he must work the hotel front desk on prom night.
The film is a coming of age story about acceptance; acceptance of self, society, and sexuality. Its about finding your place in the world and becoming who you are and denying the image society tries to force on you.
WHERE DOES IT ALL GO?
This film takes place in a rather expenseive venue: a hotel in New York city. Most of the money wil go to:
• Location - Hotels are hard to come by in New York City, and very expensive! To get the complete comedic value of this film we really need a hotel! This is where most money will be spent because I am very dedicated to making the film that I wrote and not deviating it based on a location I "cannot afford."
• Crew- A well fed crew is a happy crew! We need to keep up our crew's energy with meals and coffee in order to keep them energetic and passionate in the creation of this film.
• Art/Props - To keep up with the fun and funky vision for the film, Production Design is key. The Director comes from an Art Department background and understands that Art truly creates the look of the film and gives the actors a space to work and be the character in. Art is key to character development and the more we can fill a room with props and atmosphere, the better the performance we can receive from the actor, the better the film we can make.
• Expendables - You know the saying "never forget the little people?" That's how it is with expendables such as camera and lighting equipment. Not to say these aren't important pieces of the film, they make every shot that much better to make the film that much stronger.
BROKE, BUT CAN STILL HELP
If you don't have the money to contribute, maybe you have the Dress!
At the moment, this film is also looking for people to donate their Prom Dresses/Tuxes that I KNOW are hanging in the back of the closet. With donation of your dress, it will appear in the film, be cleaned and returned (if wanted), and you will receive a "Special Thank You" in the flms credits.
