A New Documentary to Inform and Inspire Future Armenian Activists Worldwide

The Story

FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS, RULE OF LAW, A CIVIL DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY... These are familiar in most countries, but in Armenia, with prevalent government corruption, many have lost hope of ever having them. The mission of this film is to show that there IS hope for change if people want to get involved in creating change.  This film will document Armenia's 2013 presidential election, election fraud, the resulting street protests and interviews with prominent candidates and political activists.  Many politicians want to change Armenia's system of government to a parliamentary system which would remove any presidential power to govern by corruption. The separation of a president's power from the judiciary is critical to insure he cannot continue to hire and fire judges who rule against his wishes.  ANYONE and EVERYONE can become an activist.  And in a democracy, everyone MUST be one.  Only with activism can there be change.

 

Production

Interviews and street actions with Armenia's few fair-minded political activists were filmed and more needs to be filmed during the 2013 presidential elections and any resulting street protests.  Editing is a huge task, requiring months of hard work and supporting funds.  Your help will allow us to bring this movie to audiences in Armenia this summer and throughout the diaspora after that.  Armenian young people around the world are tech enabled, energetic and ready to act for democracy.  Receiving this added encouragement and inspiration by viewing current activists in this movie will create future activists!  The time is right for "Armenian Activists Now! March to Democracy".

 

The Impact 

The film will highlight the hope and promise of a future where the presidential powers are separated from the judiciary in a truly democratic new parliamentary system.  We are all Armenia Armenians and they are us!  Like family, let's pull together to help them help themselves.  Most of them have lost hope but this film is meant to help inspire new hope for a new Armenia with a population more active in their new democracy.  With your help, all of us together can make that happen.
