I started out strumming a guitar in the early 90's, booked several bands in the northwest, gave some a chance to prove themselves (which many did) and have been involved in producing indy films for about 8 years. Music has always been a salvation for me and I have turned to it when searching for something in life. After writing songs for the award winning soundtrack to "A Perfect Life", I am again inspired to create music. It has taken quite a bit of searching and growing to write these songs and do this (with the help of amazing friends) This is where the spirit of the music comes from, growth, rebirth, healing, belief and finding beauty. The cd was recorded in candle lit rooms and a theatre in Tacoma, WA. The music is intimate,organic, acoustic and recorded with very few overdubs. It is, in a way, a pre sale/exposure of the project to get the word out in advance of just selling CDs at shows. The exciting news is since networking in Park City, UT and at Sundance, I have met two people with direct connections to the industry who will be personally delivering the project. What we need, a little background and what you get:
I have broken the costs down of what the funding is going to. It is a flexible funding campaign so whatever is donated will go towards the project and it will be put out even if I have to do it on my own. With the network I have from booking bands and producing Indy films, the goal should be attainable. I have been in the entertainment industry in one form or another for roughly 14 years and want to build on something and have that foundation of baby stepping to success. It is not easy putting yourself all the way out there like this. The perks are to get the music out there whether recorded, playing live or both and to have you be a part of the process. The inlfluences range from Joy Division and Echo and the Bunnymen to Led Zeppelin, Peter Gabriel,Lou Reed and Leonard Cohen. $450 promotion, building website, design concept, signing up for cd baby and other sites to promote music. Many of these are around $10 a month to run at the highest levels of promotion.
