***UPDATE***

Firstly I want to say a huge THANK YOU so much to those of you who have generously donated to my cause:)

Donations haven't been coming in as quickly as I'd hoped...so to make the ones that do come in COUNT, I now have a back up plan!

Although I still have hopes of making it to Indonesia later this year, I was recently offered another volunteer opportunity for May/June in Costa Rica. My main stay will be with Nosara Animal Care ( http://nosaraanimalcare.yolasite.com) where I'll be staying with the rescues and providing for their daily needs.  (The picture of me above is with Nosara Animal Care)  I am privileged to have a place to stay, so I am saving for airfare and daily expenses.  

I will still be blogging on this trip, talking about the rescues and my experiences there. 

I have a couple of job possibilities on the go, and my own photography which are slowly helping things along with my savings.

I am going to keep this campaign open (I can't change the title or amount requested because it's already live), and any donations towards my volunteer work WILL be used for airfare to Costa Rica, which will be approx. $700-900.

Short Summary

What We Need & What You Get

• Airfare to Bali from Toronto is definitely the biggest expense I’m facing.  It’s approximately $2000 (plus taxes) for economy flights.  Since I’m not working a full time job right now, it’s the perfect time to get away to volunteer, but not the best time to save up money to do so.  Soon I'll be entering the workforce full time again, so this will be my last opportunity to help BARC for a long time.  Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!
• Accommodations and daily expenses in Bali are really cost effective, so I could live for two months for about $40/day (including accommodations).  I would be staying in Ubud, where the BARC facility is located.  They do have on-site living, so I’m hoping to book a room with them, which would be ideal for volunteering.

The Impact

• 13 years experience working in animal hospitals (7 yrs as a Veterinary Technician)
• Certificates in Emergency/Critical Care, Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy, and Canine Behaviour
• Volunteer experience with Toronto Cat Rescue and Toronto Humane Society
• Recently volunteered at a spay/neuter clinic in Costa Rica through a non-profit rescue called Nosara Animal Care.

With her compassion for animals, desire to help and knowledge of veterinary medicine, Jeanette has been an invaluable addition to the Toronto Cat Rescue’s “Help for Cats” program.  This volunteer run program receives over 5,000 inquiries annually from members of the community seeking assistance and advice regarding pet ownership issues and feline over-population problems.   She would definitely be a great asset to the Bali Dog Adoption and Rehabilitation Centre (BARC), helping with their efforts to save abused, injured and abandoned dogs and cats in Bali.
