The Story
THUNDERGODS:
Thor and the Battle for Asgard
-Story Overview
Issue 1- “The Attack of Asgard”
Asgard has been attacked, ravaged by the Dark Elves; it means war. Thor, stranded and stripped of most of his powers, must fight through The Nine Realms, reclaim his powers and save his family members, warped and controlled by the Dark Elves themselves. The forces of the Realms are at stake.
Issue 2- “Heavens fall from Earth”
Asgard lies in ruins, and Thor finds no clues as to where the Dark Elves have vanished. In despair, he heads for Vanaheim to meet his friends. But when it too comes under attack, he uses his mighty strength and new powers to defeat those foes and capture one of the Elfish hordes. After getting the information needed, he learns that the Aesir are being made sickly and are losing their great strength. Thor fights to restore them, but it is of no use as the Dark Elves invade the gates and enter Midgard, calling it “The Great Feast of the World Eater.”
Issue 3- “Thor, Defender of Earth”
Thor has a different plan and successfully repels the Dark Elves from Midgard, rescuing humanity in the process. He spends the night there to replenish his energy when he hears the calling of the Frost Giants and leaves for Jotunheim in a flash.
Issue 4- “Broken Family”
At Jotunheim, he finds not only hundreds of dead Frost Giants but an enraged Ysmir, the leader of the Frost Giants, blaming Thor for the death of his city. After defeating Ysmir, Thor vows vengeance on the Dark Elves and swears to never stop fighting until he finds the source of all this chaos.
Issue 5- “The Demons Wake”
He heads to Muspelheim, Land of the Demons. He confronts Surtur here, looking for information on the Dark Elves’ plans. Thor learns that they wish to destroy Aesir and recreate the world in their image. After he defeats Surtur’s hordes, he seeks the help of the wise Dwarves at Nidavellir.
Issue 6 - “The Echo of Stonewall Mountains”
Nidavellir is attacked by the Dark Elves also, signifying to Thor that something must be following him but is strangely always one step in advance. He is given new abilities and great technology by the Dwarves, and he prepares himself for one last stop before he reaches the Dark Elves.
Issue 7- “To Hel and Back”
He visits Hel, the Underworld, and wishes for great power by Death herself. After proving himself in combat, she grants him never-ending life, at the cost that he may never enter paradise and will have to fight the World Eater to prove himself worthy at Ragnarok.
Issue 8- “A Final Battle, A New Beginning”
Now truly Immortal and powerful beyond belief, Thor goes straight to Svartalfheim, The Realm of the Dark Elves. Facing Dokka, their leader, he engages in a brutal cosmological fight, and proves himself to be champion of Asgard. With Dokka dead and his friends rescued, he now has time to slumber until the day of Ragnarok, where he will have to repay his debt to Hel.
Short Summary
We are developing a comic book franchise based on the Thundergods from around the world: Thor, Zeus, and Perun, just to name a few.
- Ryan Waller, owner of Forthright Entertainment
- Brad Moore, comic artist drawing comics and game art for over 15 years
- Sean Northridge, comic writer.
The Launch of Thundergods means so much to us to finally see our vision come to life for the fans. We are taking a unique look at the eras of mythology and can't wait for others to enjoy and share in the process with us.
What contributors are helping us to achieve is to launch a new line of comics that promise to excite and garner steam. The comic is also going to be included in a new video game under the Thundergods brand as well.
We look forward to seeing this goal through and appreciate your support and help!
Thor is a god of thunder, son of Odin and a member of the Aesir sub-group of the Norse gods. Thor's wife is Sif. He smashed giants' heads with his mighty throwing hammer, Mjolnir. Thor is often compared with the Greek thunder god Zeus. The English fifth day of the week is named Thursday after Thor (Thor's Day).
"The first is a hammer, which both the Frost and the Mountain giants know to their cost, when they see it hurled against them in the air, for it has split many a skull of their fathers and kindred. When thrown, it returns to his hand of its own accord. The second rare thing he possesses is called the belt of strength. When he girds it about him his divine might is doubled. The third, also very precious, is his iron gloves, which he puts on whenever he would use his mallet efficiently."
