Who are you?
Hello Everyone!
I'm Erica "RivaFlowz" Buddington. I'm an educator, writer, and performance artist.
"Free Verse" is a project that is near and dear to me. It started out as a poem and blossomed into an unforgettable tale of lovers, in a generation that's barely expounded upon. We are innovators, lovers of renaissance, and everything magical. I’ve created this piece of work specifically for you.
My protagonist, Jai, is raised in a brownstone that’s converted into a bookstore, by her father. Her father, a revered patriarch of the community, raises a woman with a love of the literary. The environment, around them, changes constantly, as does the families that reside there. When a tragic incident occurs, Jai is forced to leave Brooklyn.
“Free Verse” is a journey in which Jai finds her way back home, literally and metaphorically, through a love interest and the journals her father leaves behind.
I’ve been invited to participate in the Callaloo Writing Workshop that will take place at Brown University this year. I’ve also found an editor that is willing to edit my work, to the tee, for a fraction of the usual cost.

I've got some awesome perks for your donation. Depending on how much you've given, you'll recieve one or more of these:1) A poem written just for you and a thank you email. 2) The entire novella, the finished version, "Unintentional Stereotype", in your email. Read part 1, 2, 3. 3) An online writing workshop. 4) A personal performance and workshop for your organization/school/friends.
How can I help, if I can't donate?
Even if you can't afford to donate, sharing the video means just as much. Use the Indiegogo share tools.
What's the impact?
In the literary world, where everything contemporary and amazing is pre hip-hop and bereft of the nuances of today, what's missing is a book that explores US, right now. There are several gems, that go unrecognized because of a publishing industry that isn't good at lending out chances. There's a young generation that's still waiting for their era to be included in the confines of good literature. I am out to write these texts, one book at a time.
If I've got yet to make you believer, check out a few of the articles/stories on www.rivaflowz.com.
For every one who took the time out to read, donate, share, comment; for all those who've done so in the past: Thank you, in advance.
