The Who & What of 'DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR'...
We are a very young genereation of filmmakers who have been inspired by the awe and wonder of cinema!
Everyone who has worked on Delusions of Grandeur so far has been devoted to getting this film made - from cast to crew, we are a group who have nothing but pure passion for film and what we're here to prove with 'Delusions' is that you don't need a massive budget or studio backing to make a film that's larger than life - all you need is enough determination to support your imagination.
DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR is a Coming-of-Age/ Sci-fi story about a teenager, Luca Elliot.
Luca's older brother, Ty's death has left Luca questioning his meaning in life and regardless of his brilliance he has decided to drop out of his graduating year of high school to enlist in the army and live the life his brother wished to.
We follow Luca on his last day at school as the closest people to Luca do their best to convince Luca of his own potential. His closest friend Evelyn and his teacher Mr Hopkins try to no avail - but just as the day draws to a close for Luca, he notices something.
A beautiful white star in the sky that no one else can see.
Suddenly Luca's day completely turns around, and he is put the biggest test of his life as his world warps and turns into a nightmare. Now Luca has to face his true meaning in life and come to an understanding of his destiny and the presence of death that taunts him.
THE DIRECTOR/ WRITER / PRODUCER:
ALI NOORIAFSHAR is a 20 year old independent filmmaker born and raised in Sydney, Australia with a Persian background. He found an early love for making movies at the age of 11 and hasn't stopped making them since. Recently he graduated from the International Film School Sydney and 'Delusions of Grandeur' was his final Major Project.

We are storytellers at heart and this movie is a story that we want shared with you.
What We Need and What you Get...
Our $2000 goal will primarily be used for equiptment hire for the remaining shoot days, along with some money set aside for feeding Cast & Crew during those days (a well fed cast and crew is a happy set!)
The rest of the funds will be pooled together for Post Production. There are major effects sequences in the film that will need hours of After Effects expertise.
A lot of money goes into making films, but budget filmmaking is the most difficult thing of all in one of the most expensive industrys in the world.

Why 'DELUSIONS'?
8 years ago I was in Year 6 with no idea of the filmmaking journey that was ahead of me. Now I feel confident more than ever that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life and when you contribute to this fund, it's not just a fund for a short film - to me it's funding a small step in my career.
These are the types of films I wish to make and I want to continue to explore and creatively challenge myself to grow and learn as a Director and as a Writer.
In the past I have recieved recognition for my film works from different Television Networks in Sydney, won awards (including BEST FILM 4 years in a row) and even got the chance to fly to Seoul, Korea for the Seoul International Youth FIlm Festival in 2006 to represent Australia.
Being a perfectionist - when I make a film, I put all of my blood, sweat, tears and 100% of my time and effort into making it the best thing I can. There are no hesitations or second thoughts.
This film means a great deal to me. It's the last film I made before leaving an educational institiute to enter the real world and pursue my dream in the industry. This film is everything I ever dreamed of making as a kid with overly-ambitious dreams with a handycam and a couple of friends. I hope to complete it soon and finally realise it as a reality.
