Mark Baker served as a patriot in the military while farming, as George Washington did. Soils and Plants: Creating Any Size Vegetable Garden
Course Includes: Garden Construction & Planning, Seasonal Planting & Harvesting, Community Relationships & Infrastructure, Permaculture Principles, and Biochar.
Pastured Poultry
Course Includes: Breed Selection, Brooding, Housing Construction, Raising, Field Operations, Feeding & Care, Preparation for Processing, Processing, Cutting Up and Bagging the Finished Product. We will also cover marketing and selling of your Pastured Poultry.
Rotational Grazing Course
Course Includes: Fencing, Watering, Pasture Management, Rotation Scheduling, Principles and Practices, and going to market, Marketing, Financials (Business Case or Returns on Investment), Selling, Direct Marketing and working with community groups.

ABOUT OUR FARM CAMPUS & ACCOMMODATIONS
The Anyone Can Farm Learning Academy is part of Baker’s Green Acres Farm -- an 80 acre working farm located near the center of Michigan near Cadillac. We have swimming ponds on the farm and are near several lakes. Wildlife areas, wooded areas, and riparian areas are on the property as part of our sustainability model. While beautiful and very rural, we offer “old fashioned farm fun.” Lake City and Cadillac are within a 20 minute drive and offer many activities on your way to or from your class. We are an hour and a half from Lake Michigan and Traverse City, popular four-season vacation areas.
Accommodations: We feel strongly that part of the Anyone Can Farm learning experience is to live on a working farm. We want to enable students to stay on-farm and to eat family style meals featuring healthy raised farm produce and livestock. Financial support would help us renovate bunkhouse and the learning center, and develop the camping area.
