Short Summary

I am an artist from India, currently living in Madison, WI. I have a PhD in Biology, but I have found my passion in art and I specialize in capturing some of the ephemeral art forms of India on permanent surfaces. I started painting textured artworks towards the end of 2011 and have been showing my works in and around Madison since February 2012. I have been showing in smaller venues like coffee shops and restaurants and participating in arts & crafts fairs. Along with these events and direct marketing I have sold more than 100 original paintings at an affordable price in the last couple of years. I have also used the proceeds from the sale of my paintings to support various community non-profits and also regularly donate artwork for fundraising events.

For the next year, I want to take my artwork to more people and reach collectors through popular art festivals. Textured paintings that I create in the style of henna body art are unique and capture the colors and patterns that are part of everyday life in India. By going to professional art festivals, I will also be able to create awareness of ethnic art forms. 

By contributing to my campaign, you will help me upgrade my booth set up which is much needed, even to qualify for these art festivals. (Photo under gallery on what the upgraded set up will look like)

What We Need 

I am looking for $2000 minimum in donations to help with the following:

• Flourish Mesh Display Panels - $700
• EZ UP Canopy 10'x10' tent with awning and sidewalls- $500
• Weight Bags, pack of four - $70
• Printed Name Banner - $50
• Spinner Rack for Notecards - $90
• Canvas Print Bins - $60
• Booth Fee for one Art Festival - $500

I am looking to participate in at least 20 art festivals in 2014 and on average the booth fees are about $400 for each show. Jury fees for each one is $50 on average. I will also need to triple my inventory of paintings before my first show and I will be saving up for these fees and cost of materials. Hence I need your support for helping me getting the required set up. 

Any funds collected in excess of my asking amount will go towards jury fees, printing of promotional materials for the show and I can always use more paint. If I don't reach my funding goal, whatever money raised will go towards getting the tent and mesh panels.
