A NOVELIST LOOKING FOR AN OUTLET
Last year I completed and published my first novel, "Illegal Procedure - A PK Frazier Novel". Initially, I only made the book available in e-formats, including versions for the Kindle, Nook and Apple devices. However, I soon realized that I needed to get the book into print and embarked on a quest to find an agent to present the book to potential publishers. Despite good reviews, such as this one from fellow author and total stranger to me, Roger Fenbrook, I have not yet found representation.

Procedure - A PK Frazier Novel (Kindle Edition)
I loved this book. After a deceptively laid back start, revelation
followed revelation, as we followed PK Frazier through his adventures and
travails. He's a likeable character I couldn't help rooting for; he has
frailties and makes mistakes, but is sympathetic and endearing. His friendships
are very realistically portrayed, especially with his buddy Ratz. Kevin Krest's
story telling technique reminded me of the Godfather Part II, covering a broad
sweep of time, and alternating between the present and flashbacks, intricately
woven, always retaining suspense, and with gentle humour. But I was never
confused by the time period we were in, and the way these came together was
satisfying. The book is very good at evoking the sights, sounds and smells of
each location. There is very convincing insight into the world of sports
programming, and also into how to play blackjack - I got the impression that in
the mind of the author, gambling can pay, at least temporarily. As a Brit, I am
also amazed at the prodigious quantities of seafood and American beer the main
characters can consume.
Illegal Procedure drew me in. I had other things I should have been doing, but
I couldn't stop reading!
While continuing to seek representation, I decided to self publish a print version which is currently available from Amazon.com. However, I need to increase my marketing efforts at the grass roots level and beyond. It will take funds to purchase and distribute books, especially through book signings and personal appearances on radio and television programs. There are a number of shows that provide broadcast time for a nominal fee, in many cases in major metropolitan areas for as little as $200 an hour. I will use all money raised to purchase books, buy airtime and pay for travel expenses to promote "Illegal Procedure - A PK Frazier Novel". The second book in the series, "Roughing the Passer - A PK Frazier Novel" is currently in the editing phase and I expect to have it ready for publication in the spring. A similar marketing effort will be required for that novel as well.
I'm very passionate about my writing and feel, like many who have read my first novel, that all I need is the right person to be exposed to the book and my career as a writer will be well on its way. Anything you can provide would be greatly appreciated and a $30 donation will be rewarded with a signed copy of the book, personalized for you. Just think, you have the opportunity to help launch a career that hopefully will rival Stuart Woods, Robert B. Parker, Elmore Leonard, Jonathan Kellerman and others.
