A new film with world-changing implications

Filmmaker Jimmy Newson has a message for us all. “I want people to understand how
invigorating it is to be an entrepreneur,” explains Newson. “I want to plant the seed of
entrepreneurship into multiple generations and re-define the word ‘entrepreneurship’ to mean
‘taking responsibility for outcomes in all areas of life.
A Billion Entrepreneurs - The Movie is an inspiring, feature-length documentary film where we follow real-life entrepreneurs, as they leave a trail of impact, inspiration, mentorship, and responsibility in their business and personal lives which has an effect on countless people. The film includes people like Adrienne, Brian, Fritzi, Ken (and his two beautiful daughters, Katherine and Isabelle), Pam, Rand, and Rick. These fascinating people will take us through a fast-paced education on what it’s like to be entrepreneurs in the real world. The purpose of this film is to inspire viewers, and allow them to understand how accessible and invigorating being an entrepreneur can really be. The goal is for the viewer be a converted fan to the spirit and contagion of entrepreneurship, regardless of their background. One of the film’s objectives is for you - the viewer - to say to yourself after watching the film, “I can do this!![]()

The film has a unique CATALYZING STATEMENT – and if you’re unfamiliar with that term, a catalyzing statement is a phrase that emotionally motivates people to take action. This films catalyzing statement is simply, “an entrepreneur in every home.” I can’t help but think that fulfilling on that would be good for the world.![]()
Everyone involved in the film believes that an important, new definition of the word,
“Entrepreneurship,” is this: Taking responsibility for outcomes. A key aspect of the film is watching the participants bring this new definition of entrepreneurship alive onscreen.

FREEDOM. What does freedom mean to you? Freedom to do what’s important to you. Freedom to make the right choices.
SECURITY. What is precious to you? your job, your family, your community? What else?
SUCCESS. How do you define success? Is it personal success, financial success, social success? You decide.

I have been a "serial entrepreneur" all my life with various degrees of success, but never getting to the point where I KNEW I made it. It has always been a constant struggle for me. I’ve had great teachers along the way and felt I learned a lot...but it wasn’t till the rug was pulled out from under me in the financial crisis of 2008 that I realized that I needed to take more control of my life…for me and for my family. I realized I was responsible for the outcome of what had happened to me and I decided that that was never going to happen again. Coming from the music industry I decided to make the jump to video production and filmmaking. Over the next few years, I've made it my mission to only take on projects and clients that I had the opportunity to learn from.
That’s where I met my greatest client, Rick Sapio. I met Rick through another great client, mentor, and friend, Patrick Gentempo. I was lucky enough to film and produce Rick and Pat on their ground-breaking projects around business and entrepreneurship. It was during that 3-year period of filming them, that my life was transformed in ways that no one close to me could believe. Working with Rick on an ongoing basis literally made me go back to the drawing board and reconstruct my entire business and life. It was like I had been walking around with foggy glasses on all my life. Rick’s teachings have had a profound effect on me, both personally and professionally.

In February of 2013, Rick Sapio did a TEDx talk, called Purpose 2.0. After watching that 14-minute video, I was transformed and inspired and decided to commit to make a film about entrepreneurship…and that Rick needed to be in it. Rick’s purpose is to inspire entrepreneurship…and I wanted to expose the world to what I had been exposed to and I wanted to do it in a big way, through this film.![]()

In this transformational documentary, I’ve been able to film some incredibly giving individuals, who want nothing more than to see more people experience freedom, security and success for themselves and their families. This film will allow countless people to learn from the examples of those who have traveled the road before them, who have made the mistakes, who are willing to pass on valuable knowledge, secrets, and how-tos. In other words, give you a working blueprint to follow. Through their stories, we learn how to apply common principles to our lives, in order to achieve positive outcomes. Now it’s not an easy road, but I will tell you that it all starts with you and finding… your…. purpose. From there, the road will open up to all kinds of possibilities for you. By now you may have heard Paulo Coelho’s quote, “When you want something bad enough, the universe will conspire to give it to you,” so it’s very important to stay committed to your path.

What are we going to use the money for?
The funding raised so far have allowed us to develop the movie and complete filming. In fact we have 100 hours of film already completed. We are near the final stage and need to raise money to complete post-production, secure distribution, marketing and promotion, and submit to film festivals.

Post-production for our film includes editing, transcribing, music composition, graphic design, animation, sound editing and color correction. In regards to marketing and promotions, we plan to do an aggressive campaign to spread this message worldwide through various forms of distribution, community outreach, screening tours and a festival run.

Project updates and exciting news about our project?
We have already created a few key relationships including promotional support and distribution with Studio Movie Grill. This theater chain has fully endorses our movie and has pledged their 160 screens in 10 states to help promote the movie and show it when officially released. We are also working with some incredible organizations that are strong supporters of entrepreneurship such as Entrepreneurs Organization and Entrepreneurs For North Texas. We have even created a non-profit organization, called A Billion Entrepreneurs.org. We are planning some advance screenings in the next few months with our current partners and plan to have the film complete and ready for release in the fall of 2014.
