We are Abhati Suisse, a Swiss-Indian collaboration.
Abhati natural products are
developed with our minds on the earth, an eye for beauty, and our hearts in the
right place, to improve health, sanitation, and education.
Our initial product launch is One Hand Washes the
Other.
One Hand Washes the Other is developed
with nature in mind, from the ingredients to the packaging and ultimately to
the environment and the people it sustains.
Indian herbology meets Swiss refinement: The rich recipe
combines traditional remedies like anti-oxidizing moringa oil from India and
soothing, antimicrobial Swiss Alpine edelweiss, along with other natural
extracts. Our formula purifies, balances, and regenerates, while leaving skin
velvety and refreshingly fragrant. Our products do not contain artificial
colorants and are free of chemical preservatives, petroleum derivatives, and
sulfates. Abhati packaging is green and environmentally friendly.
Your skin will be cleansed, pampered, and receive
“peak” protection from the herbal extracts of plants native to the Indian
Himalayas and the Swiss Alps.
Your donation will help launch this product.
Your product purchase will help buy toilets for
schools that have none.
The dirty facts on poor sanitation
·
4 out of 10 people worldwide or 2.5
billion, have no proper place to poop
·
public defecation leads to disease,
epidemics and social exclusion
·
diarrhea, a result of poor sanitation,
causes 1 death every 20 seconds
·
sanitation can reduce contamination
and resulting deaths by 37.5%
·
hand washing alone reduces deaths by
35%
Our first product
Since
proper hand washing promotes hygiene and health, we thought it appropriate to
launch the Abhati “Beauty with Dignity” campaign with
our hand wash solution One Hand Washes
the Other. Your donation is needed to kick start our first production
batch run and distribution.
Our progress so far
Besides
the R&D for the most awesome skin care line in bi-cultural cooperation, we
are currently in talks with a major international retail chain in Switzerland
to distribute our first product. Contacts have also been established to a few
other potential retail chains abroad, which have shown interest in supporting
Abhati.
FAQ Abhati Suisse: Background and Future
Who is the founder and what's her motivation?
My name is Anju Rupal. I was born in London to parents of Indian
heritage. Raised in the UK, with an Indian-British upbringing, I first went to
India at the age of 22. That was more than 20 years ago; I was walking on the
streets of Mumbai, when a young
woman named Sita, with 2 children, nudged me from behind on the shoulder. When
I turned to her, she looked at me with shame in her eyes and asked me, in her
urgency, to look after her two children while she sought a quiet place to go to the toilet.
This moment and the expression on that woman’s face have stayed with me ever
since, It has been my inspiration in founding Abhati.
I worked many years as a policy and social worker with
victims of domestic violence in the UK & Switzerland. As an entrepreneur, I can look back on more than 10 years of experience. I'm a global
citizen; a Swiss wife and mother of 2. And I recently founded an emergency
walk-in clinic for children in Zurich Bahnhofstrasse and was on the board of an
NGO called Weforest.
