Hi friends -
If you are reading this, I want to say THANK YOU for taking the time to do so. I am grateful for you!
I very much would love your support for this new recording, "Above Earth's Lamentation". All songs, for the songwriter, are born of two things; heart and circumstance. For two years I've walked through a very personally difficult journey of grief, uncertainly, shakiness and - ultimately - great hope. I hope now to have the chance to share the songs that have been born of this journey with you.
I have had the privilege of traveling and sharing my heart all these many years; and of all the projects I have done, this one is for certain the most difficult. It is intimate and raw and hopeful and, honestly, taking all the nerve I can muster to offer it! But I would absolutely not put this project out there at this particular moment, if I did not feel that the timing is right. It's a hurting world, yet one with great hope in it and above it. I hope this recording will serve to encourage, sustain, and uplift anyone who may hear.
$17,500 (of which I will get a little over $16,000 if funded) seems like a lot, I know, especially in this economically tough climate. So it's only fair to let you know how funds will be spent. Tracking, mixing and mastering will cost $16,000. Artwork and photography, another $1500. Pressing of the product will cost $3000, and another $2000 will be spent to pay co-writers for their brilliant contributions to this music.
If you're still reading, you've done the math and know that's actually a lot more than $17,500 :) Well, we are hopeful that we may even go over the goal!? At any rate, and no matter what we raise, we will make the project.
If your heart is to share this project with your friends, churches, co-workers, or anyone you know who might need to hear this music, I would be most grateful to you. Thank you, thank you! Peace, love and gratitude, always gratitude ~ Sarah
