Hi, I'm Rose and I'm an Illustrator
I've recently been working on a series of absurd animal illustrations. I'd love to turn them into a line of greeting cards and charm jewelry, but to do that I need your help.
Each illustration is a clever play on animals doing things contrary to their nature, a play on well known idioms, or just absurd and punny in general. I currently have 18 finished illustrations, with more on the way.
My vision is a line of photographic greeting cards in 5x7 archival white and kraft cardstocks, all hand-assembled with a hand-stamped logo on the back and blank inside. They make excellent quality cards and being a standard frame size, can also be easily framed for display. In addition, I'm creating charm jewelry featuring my illustrations: Brass earrings, bracelets and necklaces.
What I Need:
I'm asking for $500 - the minimum amount I need to purchase bulk supplies at wholesale rates, pay crowdfunding fees, a little padding to cover unforeseen costs as well as a 'Pay it Forward' fund. If I meet my goal, I intend to pledge 5% of profits back into other awesome indiegogo projects. I can do all this for just $500 because I already have all of the metal findings needed for the jewelry, as well as the supplies needed for any additional illustrations and larger acrylic paintings. The money I'm asking for is primarily going towards the cost of bulk card stock and envelopes, a custom rubber logo stamp, photo corners, and printing of the art. (As well as fees and my pay-it-forward fund.) However, if this campaign manages to go far behind the $500 goal, it will allow me to purchase far more supplies at once resulting in a lower overall cost per item. In addition, I can potentially expand the jewelry line to other metal tones; like copper or silver.
But like I said, $500 is just the minimum I need to get going. For every $100 above my goal, I'll create and unlock a new illustration to be made available as a card or charm in addition to these initial 18. I've got some awesome ideas brewing that I can't wait to show you!

Who is this Rose person Anyway?
I earned my BFA in Art with a double concentration in Animation and Illustration from California State University Fullerton. Since then, I've worked as a PA at Cartoon Network Studios, an Art Instructor of drawing and painting with Mission:Renaissance and helped out with various freelance and independent projects. In addition to my absurd animal illustrations, I'm also currently working on my first illustrated children's book and showing my art in various galleries throughout Southern California. When I'm not working on art; I enjoy cooking, home-brewing, gardening and hanging out at the Renaissance fair.
