Greetings! I’m Nicole Ayers, a writer and independent film director who is putting the finishing touches on my short film Abyss – featuring nearly one dozen actors and production staff from the PA/NJ/DE Tri-State area. The movie is a reality based drama about an Army officer who is stranded at a bus stop in Philadelphia after trying to win a marriage proposal contest. In the spring of 2013, I plan to showcase this project at film festivals as early as possible and then air it on the Pennsylvania area television station, PhillyCAM – but I need your help to make this happen.
I need to raise $12,000 to cover the cost of film festival submission fees, travel expenses, press materials, shipping, DVD authoring and replication for our theatrical and television broadcast premieres or this project may never be seen on screen. So, I’m turning to my strongest supporters that to ask for contributions. In exchange, I’m offering tickets to the TV premiere party and a signed handmade playbill featuring production photos with notes on how we made the film. Your contribution will help me submit the film for consideration to play in theaters here and abroad, and further, it will assist in the continued nurturing of independently produced media arts. What I Need from YOU
- Submission Fees - $2,000 for film festival submission fees.
- Travel - $5,000 for cast and crew’s transportation and lodging during the film festival premiere.
- DVDs/Exhibition Media - $2,000 for authoring and replication.
- Shipping, Storage and Press Materials - $3,000 to ship the discs to film festivals and to create press materials including movie posters and flyers.
