Mysteries of the Tarot Unlocked!

Who hasn't been fascinated by the mysterious tarot, writer and reader alike? For centuries, fortune-telling by the Tarot has caught many an imagination, but nothing like what I'm about to present here.

I am an editor who specializes in working with indie writers. But first and foremost I am a FICTION LOVER. There's only one thing I love more than my kids and Death By Chocolate Cake--and that's STORY. Editing is my career, and I've edited over seventy successful indie books. I know talent when I see it, and I know what it takes to make a story work. I have self-published myself so I know how to put a publication together. Need character references? Check out my Testimonial Page:  http://wordwebbing.com/testimonials-3/

Want more? Just ask and I'll tell you anything you want to know. Except about the goat incident, with which I was not involved. (Can't reveal details; the gag order, you know.)

I've been reading since I was three years old. Through some dark and terrible times, the only thing which saved my life and my sanity, more than once, were books. Wonderful, fabulous, amazing stories spun by people I didn't know, but who saved me. People who had no idea the joy and wonderment that helped me survive some awful experiences.

I want to pay some of that back by presenting to you a collection of incredible stories based on the Major Arcana of the Tarot by an eclectic and tremendously talented group of writers. Each one has their own unique view and storytelling voice--voices I know will mesmerize, hypnotize, and satisfy your deep fiction itch. How do I know? Because I have either worked directly with some of these writers as an editor, or am a fan of their work.

In order to make this happen, I need your help.

Where The Money Goes

The goal is to create a quality publication from some of the best new and established, award-winning writers you may not know. Yet. I aim to change that.

The budget is simple and clear. The goal: $5000 to cover professional rates for the writers and publishng costs.

Professional rates for writers:                                                      $3300.00

(That's .05 per word for up to 3000 words per story; $150 cap; 22 stories)

Copy editing                                                                               $500.00

Cover art:                                                                                   $350.00

Formatting/book design:                                                              $250.00

Perk expenses:                                                                           $250.00

(This includes print copies)

Marketing and financial fees:                                                        $350.00

Total:                                                                                       $5000.00

THE PERKS, THE PERKS!

On the sidebar is listed a choice of perks for every budget. The writers involved have been beyond generous in contributing to the perk packages, and your choices for The Empress Package can be found on http://www.allegoriesofthetarot.com/support-this-project/ -- The Support This Project Page.

Anything you can contribute is deeply appreciated.

Stretch goals as they happen and inspiration occurs. I already have some ideas and cool stuff lined up if we get that far. Check this page often for updates.

Your Reward

I am a fiction freak and I know you are, too.  (The Tarot told me!) In this volume you can expect a wide array of genres. Something for everyone. Fantasy? Check. Paranormal? Check. Horror? Check. Bizzaro? Check. Dystopia? Check. Romance? Check. And a few more surprises, but one thing these stories will all have in common--QUALITY.

This anthology will be chock-full of short stories from some of the best writers you may not know. It took less than 24 hours to fill 21 spots--that's how much the writers believe in me and in this project, and I can't tell you how honored I am by this. Just look at this line-up!

SPREAD THE LOVE!

I know budgets are tight all over, and if you can't donate there is still a way for you to help. Spread the word! Twitter, Facebook, G+, Stumble, Tumblr, LinkedIn, even smoke signals if it doesn't violate your city's ordinances. Tell your friends,  your family, strangers on the street--but please note bail money is not included in this budget.

I am truly grateful for any support you can offer.
