HAPPY 2014!
On January 18, we will be producing the
pilot program for ALOHA RADIO THEATER (ART) in order to attract national and global
distribution in the new year.
Our vision is an ongoing series that can reach you right where you live via ipod,
iphone, android…and on your local radio station. Radio has been called "theater of the mind" and is a powerful and creative medium...for inspiration and entertainment.
Experience the
music, merriment and magic of Hawaii, without ever leaving home, by helping to
fund and spread the word about ART: an innovative, entertaining radio series
in-the-making. I invite you to become an Aloha Ambassador and be part of the
“producing angels” for ART. There are special perks for participating that will allow your own
message (product, service or business) to be included in our show.
A dream team has come together to produce an hour-long
pilot for HPR (Hawaiian Public Radio) and the newly created online AH Station:
Radio for a New World Emerging. In the spirit of Garrison Keillor’s “Prairie
Home Companion,” ART is a showcase for talented artists, musicians, authors and
esteemed elders (kupunas, in Hawaiian) to “talk story.”
I have a
production budget of $7,770 to cover production costs. If our campaign
generates more, we can fund the next show and attract the right and perfect
sponsors. With your help, we can continue the journey to network radio,
spreading the spirit of aloha
to the world
Please take a few
more minutes to read the overview for Aloha Radio Theater and see the fabulous
PERKS we are offering in return for your contribution. If you can’t make a
donation, please forward this to your “magic list” and let your peeps know
about this exciting media project.
Embrace the spirit of aloha this holiday
season by supporting ART, a radio series that amplifies the “good news” and
celebrates our connection as one global family.
Today, Maui.
Tomorrow, the world.

ALOHA
RADIO THEATER: A R T
in Action
Help us
spread the spirit of aloha to the mainland…and beyond.
WHAT: In the spirit of “Prairie Home Companion,” this
program series will reach out and touch the hearts and minds of both the Maui
and world community. The show will feature spirit-filled music, cosmic comedy,
“inner-views” with Maui’s luminaries and vignettes that stir the soul. A studio
audience will add more lively energy to the program as they watch a radio show
being recorded, complete with sound effects, musical acts, scripts and stage
managers.
A 60-minute pilot is being produced for
presentation to Hawaiian Public Radio as well as American Public Radio to reach
the mainland audience. Aloha Radio Theater will be the “flagship” program of a
new online radio network called the AH Station featuring original and acquired
programming to uplift and entertain audiences worldwide.
WHO:
We are thrilled to have booked a beloved Hawaiian kupuna, Lei’ohu Ryder,
and slack key guitarist, George Kahumoku (his music was featured on “The
Descendents” with George Clooney). Best-selling author Alan Cohen, a Maui
resident, joins the Aloha Players with comedy that inner-tains.
Inspired by the
success of "Prairie Home Companion," Garrison Keillor’s long-running program in historic theaters across
the country, Aloha Radio Theater is attracting a dream team to produce the
show, bringing the community together in celebration of the Hawaiian culture
and its contribution to a beleaguered planet.
Amorah St. John
has attracted an amazing group of talented people to be the “Aloha Players.”
They include Blaine Tinsley, Mary Omwake, Haiku Helen, Michael Dawson, Liah
Howard and Tom Althouse. Together, they are ready to bring positive,
entertaining, inspirational programming to Maui…and a worldwide community of
radio listeners.
Amorah has a
30-year background in mass media communications, primarily producing radio
programs both in Chicago and the Bay Area. Over the years, she has interviewed
all the “movers and shakers” of the transformation, intent on bringing their
message to the masses. Aloha Radio Theater is her dream project and Maui is the ideal environment for this innovative program series.
Guests will “talk story,” share their wisdom and
transmit the aloha spirit to listeners far and wide. With humor and insight,
guests will be part of an entertaining mosaic of local and visiting talent, uplifting music
and theatrical scenes crafted for radio.
Here is a
beginning roster of the “shining stars” we hope to feature on future programs
of Aloha Radio Theater: Ram Dass, Zach Leary, Kealii Reichel, Wayne Dyer,
Willie K, Louise Lambert, Omar
Adisa, Jack Canfield, Bentley Kalaway, Priscilla Sanders, Liah Howard, Joe
Marshalla, Makana, Amy Hanaiali’i/Guillom, Mirabai Devi, Kedar and Shelley
St.John, StarHeart, Pulama Colier, Bodhi and Leilah Be, Rev. Blaine Tinsley,
Peter Russell, Aunty Doll, Mark Sheehan, Lapaka, Blue Mountain, Jonathan Udis
and how about Willy Nelson and Oprah Winfrey!
Each program will
include special music from a talent pool of Maui’s most spirit-filled musicians
and singers (some mentioned above), bringing their own brand of magic to the
program and adding to the powerful positive energy of these shows. In addition,
visiting “celebrities” coming to Maui will have a stage to promote their
workshop or special event.
SPECIAL SEGMENTS

WHERE: Unity on Maui will be home to the pilot program, a space that
is inviting, intimate and central for cast and crew and an ideal environment
for the premiere of
Aloha Radio Theater. Once the series gets distribution, the dream is to move
the production to the historic Iao Theater in Wailuku.
WHEN: The pilot will be recorded on January 18th
and post-produced for presentation to broadcast stations and the newly created
AH Station, soon to be available as an app for a global listenership. In a
perfect world, Aloha Radio Theater would be heard, as an ongoing series, on
public radio stations around the country and internationally via the world wide
web.
WHY: This program series can provide an “entry

the right moment for fresh inspiration, lively entertainment and spirit-filled
aloha; provide a platform for our kupuna to talk story and share their special
brand of knowing; uplift audiences with great music; and, advance the cause of
positive media on magical Maui, transmitting the aloha spirit to the world.
