Greetings, my name is Ian. I'm an anarchist of the traditional anti-capitalist variety. Oddly, I also have an MBA and I manage website development projects as my day job. Fortunately, this makes me uniquely suited to coordinate the development an anarchist-oriented online dating website.

Anarkissed.Org seeks to solve the anarchist's conundrum: How do anarchists find true love without marginalizing their own beliefs, on one hand, and without wrecking havoc on the organizations they are building, on the other hand?

Life forces us all to make important decisions, especially in matters of relationships and family (ie should one get married? how should my children be raised?). If an anarchist's mate has a different value system, then when faced with these important decisions, there may be a strong pressure for the anarchist to abandon or marginalize their beliefs, especially if the rest of their family also does not share their anarchist values. Without a mate that shares core anarchist values, anarchists run a high risk of self-marginalization. This is not only bad for the anarchist but also for anarchism as a political force because an additional contributor may be lost.

To avoid this, one approach is to find a potential mate within anarchist and activist groups. However, as we all know, even with political beliefs in common, relationships aren't always successful. When they end, the two individuals often do not want to have contact. Dating within anarchist and activist groups, therefore, can weaken these groups if people drop out. It can also wreak havoc if the two individuals subsequently begin dating other people in the group, since this can give rise to cliques and jealousy, which are definitely not conducive to working toward a common goal.

Your donation to this IndieGoGo campaign will directly fund the creation of Anarkissed.Org, an anarchist online dating website that will solve the anarchist's conundrum. The website will help anarchists find true love without marginalizing their core beliefs. It will also help them date outside of their anarchist and activist circles, thus protecting those groups from relationship drama. We want Anarkissed.Org to be donation-based and your donation today will help get it off the ground without needing to charge users any sort of recurring monthly fee. Ultimately, over time, we hope this website will contribute to the establishment of multi-generational anarchist-leaning families which we believe will strengthen anarchism significantly. So far, we have over 200 likes on Facebook supporting our effort!

What We Need & What You Get

We need $1000 to do this project right!

$400 will cover purchasing the SkaDate dating software, which includes most of the features you'd expect from an online dating website. $75 will cover two years of web hosting at Skadate's preferred hosting provider Arvixe. $40 will cover two years of private domain registration. The remaining $485 will cover the work required to customize the look and feel of the website.

If we don't reach our goal of $1000 then we will do as much as we can with the money we raise. We need to raise at least $400 at the very minimum!
