Let's Stack Some Paper

We are asking for $750 that will go directly toward our latest project BACKSTAGE AT HORROR DRAG at The Incubator Arts Project February 21st - 24th, with a special encore performance at JACK Arts Center February 28th-March 1st.  As of right now, every bit of funding toward our work has come out of our own pockets.

This funding would provide :

• Props! Lots of glitter, blood, gore and pistachios are going to be needed every single night in order to deliver the most fabulous horror your eyes won't be able to unsee.
• Costumes! We need short shorts for our Ball Boys and wedding gowns brides were buried in. 
• Rehearsal space! Real estate in this city doesn't come cheap babies, and although we rehearse in back alleys whenever possible, it's gotten cold outside.

The Show

Inspired by the real-life Filipino drag sensation Ryan Robles, "Backstage at Horror Drag" imagines a flourishing niche of performance and the community of people who give their lives to it, despite the nearly total lack of recognition or reward. Through a series of live drag sets intercut with scenes of backstage intrigue, “Backstage at Horror Drag” is made of glamour, stage blood, glitter explosions, and above all; lip-syncing.

Who We Are

Founded in 2010, we are ANIMALS: NIKKI CALONGE, MIKE MIKOS, MICHAEL DE ANGELIS. Utilizing various modes of visual art and performance, ANIMALS move through dance, puppetry, script and video in order to create moments that question the flexibility of the world around us and the nature of humans through irreverence, instinct, ability and play.
