Hi, if we haven't met before, my name is Anne McCue. I was born in Sydney, Australia and I have been very lucky to play my music all over the world. I am getting ready to record my new album - 'Even Cowgirls Play The Blues' (Working Title).

This will be my 6th studio album and my plan, based on the success of this campaign, is to reunite with the great band from my 'Roll' album - Dusty Wakeman, Dave Raven and Carl Byron.

'Roll' was picked by Bob Harris (Old Grey Whistle Test, BBC) as his favourite album of the year and was critically acclaimed by press outlets such as Billboard, Rolling Stone etc.

The amount we are going for is $20,000 and will be used for the following:

$20,000 seems like a lot of money  - but in the music business, it's the bare minimum with which you can put out a new release. If we exceed the goal, we will have all the more chance of success.

Additionally, I will contribute a percentage of all contributions over the target to a charity for street kids.

I am hopeful that this album will be my 'Nick Of Time' album, to make an impact further and wider than ever before. So the budget for publicity and radio promotion is all important.

We want to make an album that goes deep - with influences such as Tom Waits, Astor Piazzola, Billie Holiday, Lightning Hopkins, Peggy Lee, John Lee Hooker, Bessie Smith, Tony Joe White, Howlin' Wolf, Mississippi Allstars, Dr. John, Mississippi John Hurt - swampy, sultry, emotional, and also, fun!

Dusty Wakeman - producer, engineer, bassplayer has worked with Lucinda Williams, Dwight Yoakam, Roy Orbison etc. Dave Raven (Nancy Sinatra, Mojo Monkeys) will play drums and Carl Byron (Bo Diddley, Warren Zevon) will play keyboards.

Between the four of us, we have a lot of musical and life experience and I want the album to reflect that with breadth and depth and simply great tunes.  We love each other a great deal and can't wait to make another album together. This will be my best album yet, I have no doubt.

I have been operating as a totally independent artist the last 7 years and have put out 2 albums in that time. The last one was in 2010 - it's definitely time to make a new one! I can't do it without you!
