Where does
your money go?
Our most ambitious project to date is to take APOCCAS
to the next level. Your hard-earned dollars, pounds or rupees will go straight
to pay for the making of our New Season collection of scarves and
bracelets. All of the funds raised
on Indiegogo will fairly remunerate the women’s groups we’ve partnered with,
including our Buddhist nun weavers and a NGO in the North of Thailand which
grows silk for us and botanical-dyes it.

Stretch goals
Wondering if there’s room to invest your time and money
even once we’ve reached our goal? Think
no further. This campaign introduces
nine of our collection styles and lets you own them now.
In case our funding goal is exceeded we are prepared. We have tucked into our starting blocks to
gear up production for another six scarf collections and three throw designs
for sitting around a bonfire or beautifying the home. Your contribution will pay ‘fairly’ and
directly for the making and marketing of these treasures that you can admire
below. From the cotton or silk farmer to
the master weaver.

Why Indiegogo?
We’re
changemakers, new to the game, and we like fresh ways of thinking. We feel the love in our matron-run village
communities but we’re equally after public validation and this means you. Crowdfunding is an ingenious way to help us
in our efforts to get both word and product out to the world but it is ‘all or
nothing’ and that is a concern. 50% of
humanity is female and the talents and traditions of these women deserve
recognition. At APOCCAS, we’re just the
catalysts: our mission is to uncover and streamline their skills into heirloom
designs. Indiegogo facilitates: it
provides a platform for us to showcase what we believe in and for you to
endorse empowerment for our artisans.

Your support can be more than financial
Empowering people is gratifying for everyone. Thank you for absorbing the essence of our
initiative. If you’re ready to back us –
magnificent! If you’re not feeling
money-generous but do buy into our dream, there’s room to spread our word with
your family, networks and friends. Open
doors to other changemakers if you can.
The world is ready to be a better place.
Risks & challenges
As with
anything handmade, our biggest challenge is time. Most of our yarns are spun, reeled, dyed and
woven not by machines, but by human hands.
Delays may occur in light of the complex processes during manufacture
although we set realistic production and delivery dates. Unexpected village
ceremonies or heavier than usual downpours during Thailand’s rainy season,
floods and quarterly rice harvest chores may disrupt the best of goodwill
further but we’re all about communicating and problem solving and will post
regular updates throughout.
