Hello! We are Kate Dickinson and Justin Goodemoot, co-Artistic Directors of APT Theater. We are thrilled to present The Return, our first full-length, fully-staged production in New York. We've come a long way to get here and we need your help to get a little further!
We grew up three fields apart in rural Michigan. Since those early days of dirt roads and back yards, we've been writing and performing. We were cast in our first show together when we were fourteen and collaborated on our first original piece of theater at seventeen. We auditioned for the same college theater and discovered we were accepted on the same day. After graduating, we moved to New York, where we embarked on separate, weirdly parallel, careers as professional actors and writers. When we discovered we had the same goals for what we wanted to create, we vowed to once again become allies! Shortly after, we wrote and produced our first in a continuing series of one-acts called The Apartment Plays, performed in, you guessed it, apartments around the city.
From there, we have continued to grow. Our network of artists and collaborators is constantly expanding as our projects broaden in seemingly limitless scope. Fifteen years after we met, and six hundred miles away, we finally gave ourselves a name – APT Theater.
And now we’re producing our first full-length, fully-staged play and we need YOUR support!

THE COST
Producing a play in New York is very expensive. A few of the costs we’re about to encounter include:
Rental fees for rehearsal studios and the Gallery Theater
Insurance for the cast, crew, and audience
Stipends for the hardworking cast and crew
Marketing materials, including posters, postcards, and listings
The set, including custom-made doors, and furniture, including a couch and a refrigerator
Props and costumes
HOW YOU CAN HELP!
Help our new theater company accomplish its first major milestone by donating as much as you can today. After you donate, tell your friends (by liking us on Facebook and sharing this page) and encourage them to throw a few bucks our way too! If you can’t donate to get the show on its feet make sure you come see it this summer - we're assembling a killer cast and crew and know it will be an event you won't want to miss!
THANK YOU!
