![Who We Are Who We Are]()
Arcade Odyssey is a true retro arcade located in Miami FL. We have been voted the #1 Arcade in South Florida by several organizations. Originally we had planned to open a Video Game Museum & Arcade but unfortunately we were unable to make our vision a reality. But as anyone who has ever played a video game will tell you, we gamers can be very stubborn, so we decided to move ahead with the Arcade portion and add the museum at a later date.
Our aim is to provide everyone with the best possible gaming experience anywhere; we accomplish this by circulating rare and unique titles every month, taking recommendations/requests from you our customers, offering console gaming tournaments and cosplay competitions on a monthly basis, as well as Asian drinks and snacks to add the overall experience.
Always striving to surpass our limits, we now we feel it’s time to take our vision of a gaming utopia to the next level.
![What We Plan To Create What We Plan To Create]()
Imagine a place where you can take a trip back in time and learn about the history of gaming including consoles, computers and handhelds from around the world.
An Arcade with over 200 games, from the latest and greatest, including rare and imported titles, pinballs, and of course the classics.
Console/PC Gaming rooms with high speed networking and broadcasting capabilities to be used for tournament events; these are to be held on a weekly basis.
A place where blossoming game developers can have actual gamers test their works in progress, and get feedback from the players.
We would also encompass a comic book store with the latest issues, collectables and manga magazines.
Dedicated themed table top rooms, where gamers can congregate and play every game from Magic the Gathering and Pokémon to War-hammer and Dungeons & Dragons.
Retrogaming rooms with buying, selling and trading games, full parts and repair services available.
Bubble tea and frozen custard, a video game themed restaurant with a full liquor bar.
A dance floor, karaoke stages with Professional Rock Band Setups and 10ft projector screens.
Live Music from local bands, stunning Laser Light shows
All this under one roof!
![Sounds Amazing! Sounds Amazing!]()
We know that the amount required to create this magnificent place is staggering, but with great progress comes great risk. So we created a flexible-funding campaign just in case we don’t meet our goal. We would use the funds to purchase additional games for our current location and/or the possibility of expansion to a new venue. Some of the games we will be trying to acquire include:
Phase One - $150,000
In addition to the existing Arcade we will acquire a separate larger location around 3,000sqft, which will encompass a new larger tournament area for consoles, card and tabletop gaming. Additionally there will be more Arcade and Pinball machines located on site.
These funds will cover the basic build out, A/C units, electrical work, tables, chairs, consoles and additional Arcade and Pinball machines.
Phase Two - $350,000
Everything from Phase One plus a new counter within the Arcade for selling Bubble Tea & additional snacks. We also are able to acquire new cabinets and a large portion of our new game acquisition including the following titles:
• Initial D 7XAA – Double Cabinet
• DDR X3 or 2013
• Castlevania: The Arcade
• Metal Gear Solid Arcade 3D – 4 Units
• Miku Hatsune: Project Diva
• Sonic Blast Heroes
• The Bishi Bashi
• Wizard of Oz Pinball
• House of the Dead 4 EX
• Wangan Midnight 4 – Double Cabinet
• Pac-man Battle Royale
• Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus R
• Darius Burst: Another Chronicle EX
• Taito No Tatsujin #14
Phase Three - $750,000
In addition to Phase One & Two we would acquire an addition 3,000sqft to build out a smaller Museum. This would allow us to build all the fixtures, furniture and walls. As well as the equipment necessary to make it a true interactive experience such as interfaces and screens.
Phase Four - $1,500,000
This would allow us to do everything mentioned above plus make additions to the annex and lease another 1,000sqft of retail space. In the new storefront we would offer a Comic Book Store & Retro Console section to buy, sell and trade and even repair systems. This would allow us to fully stock the store with card games, tabletops, comics, furniture, comics and merchandise.
We would also be able to purchase 20 custom built PCs to host additional tournaments in the annex.
Phase Five - $3,000,000
This would allow us to purchase a 10,000sqft location to house everything under one roof. This location would encompass everything mentioned above plus a full sized museum.
Phase Six - $5,000,000
This would allow us to purchase a 25,000sqft location to house everything under one roof. This location would encompass everything mentioned above plus themed rooms for tabletop games, stages with karaoke, projector and sound systems. Tournament area would see a significant increase in size.
Phase Seven - $7,000,000
The true vision! Everything under one large 50,000sqft location that we will own. Everything mentioned in the above phases plus a video game themed restaurant and full liquor bar.
This covers the cost of permits, freezers, fridges, grills, full staff, all necessary renovations, electrical, zoning, flooring, exterior and A/C equipment.
![FAQ FAQ]()
Q. Who is Rick Medina and what is the reason for wanting to create something so astronomical?
A. Many know Rick Medina as the owner of Arcade Odyssey. But very few know him as one of the largest collectors of video game consoles in the world. He has amassed almost 300 unique consoles, over 75 Arcade Cabinets and Pinball machines and 300+ Arcade boards over the course of 25 years.
Like many collectors, he wants to ensure that the history of gaming is preserved and wishes to share his collection with the world.

Q. So most of the contents of the Museum and Arcade are already privately owned?
A. Yes. Since a large portion of it is already owned we are not looking to acquire hundreds of machines to create this place. All contributions will go towards the construction.
Q. Why $7 Million?
A. Many arcades within the last 5 years have closed their doors due to landlord issues and/or property lease disputes. We want to avoid that in advance. So the money will go towards the building acquisition and any renovations the new location will require. This would allow us to open our doors without the fear of having to shutdown due to an outside party, thus controlling our own destiny.
Q. I'm a little concerned that it's too good to be true. Do you think some areas will suffer with so many things going on in one location?
A. We have already layed out what would be required to ensure that doesn't happen. First and foremost we would need to hire a large amount of additional staff, thus creating dozens of new job oppurtunities within the Miami area. With proper scheduling and management there will always be something to do every day of the week at the new facility.
