Aye Inspired is guerilla art exhibition in Scotland
inspired by the Scottish independence campaign.
Over 30 artists have submitted artwork including fine art, graphic art, sculptures and mixed media, all inspired by the drive to make Scotland an independent country.
Initially Aye Inspired was going to exhibit in Aberdeen and we already have an amazing city centre venue there but so many people have expressed a wish to see the exhibition travel further afield in Scotland, including our artists who come from all over the country (and abroad!), that we need funding to make this a reality.
What We Need
Due to Aye Inspired being a partisan exhibition for the yes campaign we have found it impossible to get council run free gallery space. We are political and we refuse to budge from our ethos of supporting the goal of independence for Scotland, so we haven't compromised or diluted our message in the drive to get people to host us. We want to spread the message and engage in the national conversation as artists for yes. This does mean that we may have to rent gallery space in towns that we want to go to. We'll also need travel costs to get the exhibition to wherever we go. This will mean hiring a large van to transport the exhibits and petrol costs. We also want to publicise the event wherever we go, so we will need printing costs to be covered for posters, flyers and our brochure. If at the end of our exhibition we have any surplus we will donate to other yes campaigns who are struggling for funding to help them get their message out.
In short, the more funding we get, the more places we can take Aye Inspired before September the 18th.
What You Get
ALL contributors will have their name (unless they wish to remain anonymous) on a piece of art exhibited in the exhibition as a thank you regardless of the size of their donation. Those who donate above certain amounts will get a range of perks if they choose to take them, including invites to our launch and prints of certain art works.
