What is babuino?

Babuino allows you to control your digital devices with your smatphone, in an easy way.

You just have to connect your babuino to a USB port of the device you want to control, and start our program on your phone

Connecting with babuino is trouble free and it does not need any configuration.

You can also control your smartphone from your computer (PC or Mac), now you can write your messages from a regular keyboard. It works in android devices, iPad and iPhone with jailbreak.

 With babuino, you can use your smartphone to control lot of things, computers, toys, homemade electronics... and practically any digital device.

Who can use babuino?

Everybody.

When we started developing babuino, we thought in people who just want to use our technology, without knowing anything about how does it works, but if you are interrested we will give you all information.

Babuino will be shipped as a 100% finished product, and it will come with lot of software to use it from minute one.

But at the same time, we want to offer a usefull and powerfull product for that people who want to make their own projects, so we developed babuino as a full open project.

We have to models, babuino stick and babuino board.

Why are 2 versions of babuino?

Well, these 2 versions of babuino are pretty similar.

Babuino stick comes on a transparent case (like a pendrive) so you can bring it with you everywhere. You have seen several of its uses on the promotional video.

Babuino board comes unboxed. It have accesible pins, so you can connect more electronic components to it. It´s a very small board, arduino compatible, bluetooth ready,  and with the power of the xmega microcontroller.

If you do not know which one to choose, we suggest babuino stick, or even better, both.

Both versions have basically the same hardware, so don´t worry about which is better, because they are equal. You just have to decide, if you want babuino with a case (stick) or without case and accesible ports (board).

Open source, firmware and hardware

All software that you have seen in the video is open source, so you can modify or use as a base for your projects, even for commercial projects.

Smartphone's programs are for the android platform.

Desktop's programs have versions for Windows, Mac and Linux

The firmware is open source too.

Arduino compatibility

Babuino is a 100% Arduino compatible board.

Our firmware is based on LUFA. You will be able to use your arduino sketches with Babunino, because it's an arduino compatible board with integrated bluetooth. 

What do we need?

We have done a lot, but there is much more to be done.

We have done the first prototypes, but we need more prototypes before babuino is ready for production.

We have lot of software for babuino under development. We use it, and we love it, but we know there is much to be done before it reach the quality we want it to have.

We know this is a fantastic product, and we want to make it available for everybody for a great price, so we need your contribution to make a large production.

Can you give me more technical information about babuino hardware?

Of course. As we have told you, is a 100% Arduino compatible board.

We have developed the video prototypes with the ATMega32U4 microcontroller, but the final version, will come with the powerfull ATXMega128A1U microcontroller.

We have try to make babuino as tiny as possible. Despite its small size, babuino integrates a Master/Slave selectable Bluetooth 2.0 module, and a Infrared transmitter and receiver.

Babuino stick is powered with the USB port, and babuino board can be powered with the USB port, batteries or with an external power adapter.

Babuino board have accesible ports for you to connect anything you want.

VAT and shipping cost

We are not lawyers or accountants. We have contacted our local tax office and for them this is not a donation, but a presale. We do not agree with them but we can not do anything about it. Any supporter from an EU country must pay VAT (Spainsh VAT is 21%). We know this is an extra effort for our EU residents contributors and we appreciate it greatly.
