Who are we?

• Banned the Musical is the latest show from April Alsup, who gave us last year's Best Musical and Best New Musical (Broadway World Awards), which was labeled a five-star performance and given a unanimous thumbs up by the Scottish media at Edinburgh Fringe 2023. 

• It's directed by Kelly McAllister, (Best Director for Eigg, BWW)

• It's choreographed by Heather Westenskow (nominated for Best Choreography by BWW)

• It stars: Tracy Denver, Eli Harvey, Olivia Kisicki, Star Ilalaole, Blake Nawa'a, Timmy Pamintuan, Lars Preece.

• We are all Denver based artists, from various backgrounds, working together to make this show something to remember.

• We have the distinct honor of being part of the Press Launch this year, which means we get to perform a number from our show in front of the world's theatre press, including the BBC, The Guardian, and the Telegraph. This is huge, and we aim to knock it out of the park.

• A portion of our proceeds will be going to the Dramatists Legal Defense Fund.

What We Need & What You Get

• Going to Edinburgh is not cheap. We have transportation, lodging, and meals to cover, not to mention a few costumes and set pieces.

• We would love to have your name in the program at Edinburgh as part of the team. We look forward to giving you a framed poster show, signed by the cast and crew. 

• We want to see you all in VIP seats at our preview performances at the Vintage Theatre in Denver in late July!

The Impact

• This show is about community, about finding who you are and accepting yourself as is. Your help for this show will help us bring this very current and important message to people from all over the world.

• Your help will give the artists in this show, who are giving up time and money, feel a little less economic impact by doing this show.

Risks & Challenges

• We are going to be on one of the biggest stages for new shows in the world. This is the festival that gave us the musical Six, as well as the shows Fleabag and Baby Reindeer. We have the potential to take this show on from the festival to a longer life on the stage.

• Our plan is simple. We have the best cast possible, with the best creative team, and the best support team imaginable- which we hope you become a part of!
