We need your help to renovate King's Kitchen, a non-profit restaurant in Charlotte with a mission to feed the poor & extend a job training program

The King's Kitchen & Bakery is a unique non-profit managed by Jim Noble Restaurants. It donates 100% of its profits and sales to feed the poor and to equip those who are searching for a new beginning by training them in the restaurant trade. 

Whether you're enjoying lunch on the patio or dining on our famous Aunt Beaut's cast iron skillet fried chicken, you will find each bite of food offers Chef Jim’s signature style of “New Local Southern Cuisine.” The menu features in-house, culinary specialties showcasing local and organic produce paired with the finest cut meats. This delicious palette, along with the finest artisan breads will provide an experience that with each meal it will be a “Feast you wont forget.”

Where the Hungry, Feed the Hungry

By combining his passion to help the hungry with the generosity of others Chef Jim and his team assembled all the right ingredients to open a landmark restaurant in the heart of uptown Charlotte, in the Spring of 2010. Gently used fixtures, kitchen equipment and cash gifts allowed this not-for-profit to open debt-free near the height of the recession. Since its opening the restaurant has used every penny of proceeds to sow into the community, believing they have been called to serve the needy, in the hopes that the whole community thrives. 

Wondering how you can become part of such an encouraging and transforming cause? Each time you enjoy lunch on the patio or dine in the restaurant you are helping the hungry in our city. King's Kitchen strives to daily feed 100 poor and hungry souls through the proceeds of the restaurant.

The King Needs Your Help

The needs in our city are far greater than Jim Noble and his team first anticipated. This fundraiser will allow The King’s Kitchen restaurant to continue to direct 100% of its proceeds to feeding the hungry, while also allowing the restaurant to accomplish some much needed maintenance and equipment replacement. If you have dined with us in Uptown Charlotte you might have noticed the floors need repairs, seating needs to be refreshed and that donated lighting from five years ago is expensive to operate.  A great deal of modernization in the kitchen is also needed to improve the quality of our menu and improve the ticket times for our guests. 

At The King's Kitchen every entree' is a chef-inspired, made-from-scratch dish requiring working ovens and stoves. The list of improvements include:

• Replace dining room carpeting
• Reupholster all seating (booths and chairs)
• (2) 6-Burner gas stoves
• Renovate kitchen prep area
• (1) Cooler for front bar
• Replace sink and dish-washer in front bar area
• Repaint interior restaurant
• (2) Free-standing kitchen freezers
• (1) Ice cream freezer
• Upgrade to dimmable, energy-efficient lighting
• (1) Bakery convection oven
• (2) Bakery proofers
• Refinish cabinet doors in dining room
  

Any additional funds will go toward a list of $75,000 of additional capital needs for the not-for-profit restaurmable, energy-efficient lighting

• (1) Espresso machine
• Select new glass, silver and tableware
  
• Replace kitchen heat lamps
• Install an all weather patio enclosure
• Replace patio tables and chairs
• Renovate restaurant bathrooms
• Update technology and signage

100% of any additional proceeds will go directly to feeding the hungry in our city and region. 

At The King's Kitchen we operate in the spirit of excellence by training, equipping and sending out developed leaders into our community. We employ a segment of our community that is considered unemployable, from people who have come out of prison and rehab, to youths that are at high risk from dropping out of school. Once employed, they receive training to work in every area of a full-service restaurant. They receive leadership and spiritual training as well, in order to gain the life skills that are necessary to be successful in today's job market. In this supportive environment, those once at risk for failure are poised for success. 

Details on the Perks

First and foremost each and every donation to our fund raising campaign comes with gratitude and thanksgiving. Your donations will be used in the most efficient way to further the mission of King's Kitchen. 

In 2014 we will serve up to 26,000 meals to the hungry and poor in Charlotte through your generosity and in-restaurant dining. 

The King's Kitchen is 501(c)3 not-for-profit. Your donations to help us with our renovations and kitchen equipment may be tax-deductible as a charitable contribution. Please consult your tax advisor.  

NEW! The King's Kitchen is open 7am - 10am for Breakfast!

Lunch is served Monday - Friday 11am - 2:30pm 

Dinner is served Monday - Saturday starting at 5pm

Many of our perks are designed to encourage you to come be apart of the experience at King's Kitchen. Remember that alcoholic beverages, local sales tax and server gratuity are not included in the breakfast, lunch or dinner perks. You may order alcoholic beverages or additional items off our menu and/or bring additional guests with you when you use your perks. Simply let your server know you are using a King's Kitchen perks when you are seated or making dining reservations. 

Last year we expanded to create a bakery that will allow us to increase our efforts to raise money to feed the poor and expand our offerings of dessert and breads to all of Jim Noble's restaurants. 

Additional Holiday Bakery Boxes will be available throughout the holidays by placing your order in advance. An assortment of bakery items are available in The King's Kitchen everyday Monday-Saturday during restaurant hours. Atherton Farmer's Market

Our breads and bakery items are also available at the year-round Atherton Market located in historic South End community in Charlotte. Your bread and bakery perks can be picked up at our bakery location at the market Tuesday-Saturday.  

The bakery boxes will be available to be locally picked up on November 26-27th (right before Thanksgiving) and again on December 20-21st. If you select this perk we will contact you so you can let us know your preferred location and date for pickup.  

Holiday Shopping

Once fully funded we will contact you to obtain shipping addresses if you intend to use any of your perks as holiday gifts. For individuals outside of the Charlotte Metro area we will be glad to ship you the bread and/or bakery box perk if you indicate your preference by adding a small shipping fee. (King's Kitchen will cover any additional charges for domestic shipping.)  We apologize but we are unable to ship our bakery items outside of the continental US.  

Holiday Bakery Boxes will be shipped in December starting on December 10th. All orders are guaranteed to arrive no later than Friday, December 20th.

If you select one of these top perks we are especially grateful for your donation. With each of the perk you can request additional guests at the time of booking the date for the catering or private dining experience.

Risks and Challenges

At the King's Kitchen we remain committed to directing 100% of our restaurant proceeds to feeding the hungry. Contractors, equipment providers and other business partners looking to have an impact in feeding the hungry in our city, are welcome to contact us with direct equipment and service donations.

If fully funded The King's Bakery will have one of its largest baking endeavors ahead of us. We appreciate your patience and plan on exceeding your expectations with quality of our baked items and timely delivery.
