What is Beta-Bioled?
Beta-Bioled
will be the first doctor you can always
have with you in your pocket. And we are not talking about a device that
monitors your vital signs (heart rate, temperature, blood-pressure, etc.). Those
devices are well known, and basically they are simply gadgets.
What we are talking about here is a device that can perform a comprehensive blood analysis such as you do in a hospital today, but from your home (or anywhere you are).
Did
you know that blood analysis are the most basic and recurrent In-Vitro
Diagnostic tests used by physicians to understand the health status of a
patient? They are used in order to evaluate organs functioning, to detect
damaged tissues, to control medication and chemical substances present in the
body, to identify deficiencies and intoxications, and more generally to monitor
known diseases evolution and diagnose new conditions.
This
is why we believe blood analysis should be available for everyone, everywhere, anytime and for the fair price.
How will it
be?
Beta-Bioled
will be a small device that you can hold in your hand and simply use from any
place at anytime without any other requirement.
And of course it will also present the same attracting
features thanvital-sign gadgetswe mentioned above.

Blood analysis in the palm of your hand.
- It will give you a comprehensive analysis of your blood.
-
It will be affordable, fast, easy-to-use and easy to understand. Controlled
directly from a smartphone, it will deliver results that can be quickly
understood by anyone, providing non-technical pre-diagnostic.
-
It will allow monitoring through time. Creating secured medical profiles of
patients’ historical results; it will interpret new results based on the
person’s profile, adapting the pre-diagnosis to the situation.
-
It will be wireless connected allowing, if the person wishes, to transmit the
results and medical profile to his personal physician.

Beta-Bioled 3D design
Where are we in the development?
During
the first two years of development, we have demonstrated the feasibility and
high potential of our technology and we successfully achieved and tested
several prototypes.
We
have now a working prototype that is performing better than the absorption spectrometers
currently available on the market.

Prototypes of the Spectroscopy 2.0®.
The journey
Our
next steps of development are to:
-
Integrate the working prototype
into a pre-industrial product ready to be launched in scale production.
-
Develop the mobile interface to
easily control the device.
-
Perform a clinical study and
validation on the field (through an NGO partnership already initiated).
How is it possible?
All the credit goes to Archimej Technology’s innovative technology: Spectroscopy 2.0®.

SPECTROSCOPY 2.0®, the enabling technology.
Spectroscopy 2.0®, is a disruptive evolution of absorption spectroscopy. Thanks to the use of simple LED chips, and a few other frugal and smart innovations in optics. Spectroscopy 2.0® allows to build absorption spectrometers that are ultra-compact, high sensitivity and low-cost at the same time.
Good news then that current machines used in hospitals for blood analysis run on absorption spectroscopy technique. Because what do you get by combining the technique used in hospitals analyzers with a miniature and low cost absorption spectrometer? Beta-Bioled device.
Join us
In the current environment where everybody feels
more and more the necessity to gain control over their own lives and future,
the need to monitor their health in a better way comes first. This is why we
are asking you today to help us revolutionize health monitoring.
We set-up the campaign objective at the symbolic
amount $US1000.
We need the funds we could receive with this
campaign. And we hope they will be the highest possible, because they will help
us to keep moving forward in this project we are passionate about. Nevertheless
we mostly care about knowing that you back us up, that we share the same
believes and that you are part of this exciting challenge we want to face.
We are changing health monitoring, so please join
us, and help us make it happen.
Our perks for Indiegogo contributors.

The Team
The Archimej Technology team is
fully committed to successfully develop Beta-Bioled, the first hand-held and personal
comprehensive blood analyzer. And to make it available on the market within the
shortest time possible. This is our promise.
![]()
Archimej Technology is led by a team
of five international entrepreneurs from five different origins (France, China,
Hong-Kong, Tunisia and Argentina), with synergic competences and sharing the
same beliefs.
Most importantly, they cleverly complemented
their flexibility and dynamism of young entrepreneurs with the wisdom and
expertise of seniors in different strategic fields (entrepreneurship,
scientific, etc.).
"I
am convinced that their innovative idea deserves further investigation. Even
though their solution does not exist yet, it can quickly lead to the
development of a new product with even better, performances as compared to
those available up to now.".
[April 2012] Jean-Louis Meyzonnette, Chairman (2000 to
2009) of SPIE European conferences on Optical System Design and Scientific
evaluator in radiometry for the French Committee of Habilitation.
They are already 42 to dare.
42 microfinancers, 42 followers, 42 friends, 42 to be part of the movement.
On behalf of the five founding members of Archimej Technology, we truly would like to thank you for believing in us and in our project. You have supported us since the beginning when we needed it the most. It is thanks to you that we are here today, more than a year later.
Take care,
Archimej's team.

FAQ
Q - Why don't you
offer pre-orders of the device?
A - This campaign was not aimed at offering pre-orders, because
if we did so you will have had to wait more than a year to receive your device.
We thoughts it was to much waiting. That's why we set-up this first campaign as
a way to get your feedback and as a preparation for a second campaign with
pre-orders that will be launched in less than a year.
Q - Will the device be truly portable/mobile?
A - Yes, absolutely! The device dimensions will
be around 10 cm long, with this particular boomerang shape
(see prototype picture) given by the technology optical path. We will try to
update the campaign with some "artist concept" of the device design.
Q - Will it be just yet another device restricted to
healthcare professionals?
A - Absolutely not! The device will be possibly used by
healthcare professionals, because of the unmet need it satisfy; but it will
be principally aimed at mass-market. Our goal is to transfer the
diagnosis/analysis capacity from hospitals to the general public.
Q - Will the price of the device be
tentative, prohibitive or affordable?
A - Great question. For the moment, it is too soon to anticipate
a retail price for the device. Anyhow, what we can assure is that the device is
being developed focusing on mass-market needs and economic capacity. So be
sure it will be affordable, and potentially (depending on countries) covered by
social security, at least in part.
Q - Could the device be used by non healthcare
specialists?
A -
Yes, absolutely! The device is being developed in order to be used by anyone
without any specific knowledge in medicine. If you are familiar with
glucometers (for diabetics), the principle of use will be the same. A single
droplet of blood, obtained by finger-stick, is sucked up by capillarity in a disposable
test-strip and the device do the rest.
