RETRACING WWII HISTORY, TO MAKE A BRIGHTER HISTORY FOR HUMANITY:
Have you ever found a true
story, a piece of history, that you just had to bring to life? A story
that inspires and motivates great things? Well this story inspired me,
to write a documentary script that would chronicle one of the most
amazing tales of Human Strength of Will and Community Spirit at one of the darkest times in human history. Some
stories just have to be told...
This Campaign will fund a
documentary that tells the story of Jan Baalsrud and the Communities
that saved his life, through modern eyes with many obstacles in the way.
Your contributions will be life changing for a special group of people that take on the challenge of retracing this moment in history, to make new history!

Documentary will cover everything from recruitment, trials, selection,
training, research, logistics and the language barriers, how we overcome
all the obstacles in our way... join as a team, as one unit and battle
to ensure this documentary is made, and made right!
It will take us two years to complete everything, but it will be so worth it, ordinary lives will be changed forever!
Many
projects are for charity and do very worthwhile work, but rarely do you
get to see how your money has contributed to and impacted on someone's
lives directly! This documentary will do just that, and by changing
these people's lives, you will have changed the lives of many others too
and brought to life one of the most amazing Second World War Stories
ever told.
FINANCE & COSTS
To make this documentary, a realistic figure of €576,755 Euro is required to cover everything. This calculation takes into account the entire cost of the project covering absolutely everything.
To fund this documentary, a certain portion will be covered via offline fundraising from government grant applications, offline sales and donations – whilst the remainder will be raised through Crowdfunding.
The project will be funded in two phases, 50% raised now and a new campaign to raise the remaining 50% in May of this year.

The Impact
Beyond The Call of Duty; The Baalsrud Story LIFE CHANGING FOR EVERYONE IT TOUCHES...
Charity
projects are fantastic and do a lot of valuable work, but rarely do we
get to see the impact our money makes. This documentary is very
different and you will have direct access to information in visual form
of how and where your money is used, and the positive, magical impact it
will have on people's lives.
Yes, the documentary will retrace
history and showcase an amazing story, but this is also a backdrop to a
modern story, one of struggle and strife where community spirit comes to
life and only through the support of each other can they succeed.
There
is no better gift to a person in life than self-empowerment, and that's
exactly what you will do by contributing to this project, you will
empower!

WHO IS ON THE TEAM?
Seán is the Project Sponsor and designer of this documentary, a Project
Management Professional and former Naval Officer, he setup Hellweek
PT(TM) as an Elite Military Themed Events provider based on his own
experiences from uniformed service, this documentary was folded into the
overall plans for the Elite Team-building Services provided through his
organisation today. With almost 20 years uniformed service behind him,
and a specialisation in Search and Rescue, he has made many friends
throughout the world including Scandianvia where he was based for 6
years. The documentary has been planned and developed by Seán with the
last 3 years, having gone through one concept or another to finally
arrive at the current design. Seán brings a wealth of leadership,
logistics, team-building, coordination and project management skills to
the table. His enthusiasm and workaholic nature make him a driving force
to be reckoned with, his love of WWII history and affinity with this
story meant he just had to do something to bring it the English speaking
world. Seán is also fluent in Swedish and has a good grasp of
Norwegian.
Brian has been involved in HWPT from its early inception right up to
today. As a serviceman with the Irish Defence Forces, Brian brings 26
years experience to the table in team-building, people management,
motivation, fitness development, project management and humour. Brian
has served with Scandinavian soldiers in the Lebanon and Bosnia and is
no stranger to rock-climbing, orienteering, mountaineering and adventure
full stop. A keen marathon runner, he has run the Dublin City Marathon 3
times and completed the Berlin Marathon too, as well as several Half
Marathons and 10k's. His keen sense of humour, good natured attitude and
willingness to help people mean he is well suited to developing people.
The wealth of experience he brings from the defence forces will be
invaluable to this project.
Mark is a Survival instructor at the Irish Military Survival School and
a SNCO with the Irish Aer Corps with almost 3 decades of service
between the Army and Aer Corps behind him. The can-do and positive
attitude Mark brings to the table, coupled with his no-bull manner,
means that he is a superb asset to have on this project. Similar to
Seán, Mark has completed his SERE and Survival Training in Sweden. A
keen hunter, outdoors-man and good natured guy, his experience from the
armed forces will also be invaluable in building the team needed to
complete this trek over 245km in the Arctic Circle. Mark has been
working with Seán since 2013 with both teens and adults teaching
survival and team-building.
Sandra is a Reserve Officer with the Irish Army and in her civilian job
she is a Cash Administrator. A bubbly person full of life with a wicked
temper if tested, Sandra has also been involved in HWPT since its early
inception. Sandra has a passion for all things military and is
especially interested in the outdoors aspect of things, with a keen
interest in navigation and orienteering. An excellent researcher and
planner as well as a calm person that thinks things through before
executing. having undergone many of the challenges HWPT has to offer,
Sandra can give a first hand insight to candidates how they can overcome
various obstacles they face on the deck. As well as bringing a wealth
of leadership, people management and development skills to the table,
Sandra always has a smile on her face and is never afraid of a
challenge. She is an excellent asset to have on this project.
Martin is the owner of Moving Image film production company. His
experience and wealth of knowledge from making documentaries for TV such
as RTÉ (Ireland's National broadcasting agency), TV3, TG4, the Travel
Channel and BBC means that he is able to bring that visual element to
the project that it needs. Quality and passion are two key elements for
Martin to get involved in a project, since he is so passionate about
making film himself, it has to be worth it. His perspective is that this
story is more than worth telling and he looks forward to getting
involved in bring an amazing story to life and telling two stories in
one - the backdrop story of Jan's escape and those that helped him, and
the story of today's team preparing to undertake his 245km trek over the
Arctic Circle from Norway to Finland and into Sweden passing over some
of the most dangerous environment in the world. Martin's work is very
well renowned in Ireland having worked with people like Glen Hansard of
"Once" fame, Christy Dignam & the band "Aslan" and Don Mescall who
are all very prominent figures in the Irish Music industry.
