A film that will celebrate the bicycle!
This crowd funding campaign is an opportunity for ALL who want to see this film made, to be able to contribute and be a part of it and get some unique perks in return.
( Please watch the video above to understand more of who we are and what we are hoping to achieve.)
We have got some great sponsors involved but we really want all cyclists and bicycle lovers to feel they can contribute too.
'I'm asking you please support this film "Bicycle". Why? We have a tremendous story to tell here, one of inspiration, one of history. Please learn about the bicycle, please support "Bicycle".'
Gary Fisher: Legendary developer of the mountain bike.
"Bicycle" will be a feature documentary that tells the story of cycling in the land that invented the modern bicycle, its birth, decline and and re birth from Victorian origins to today.
Featuring the finest components from archive to
contributors and live action from cycling culture now as well as great music, "Bicycle" will be cinematic,
humorous, lyrical and a warm reflection on cycling and the bicycle and their place in the national
psyche. It will weave design and transport with sport BUT our central character will be the "Bicycle"!
The
film team for ‘‘Bicycle” includes Bafta winning director Michael B Clifford and
international award winning film producer Pip Piper of Blue Hippo Media. Rob Penn, broadcaster and author of acclaimed "It's All About the Bike" is a creative consultant and contributor.
Blue Hippo's recent documentary “Last Shop Standing” about the UK’s independent record shops
featured Paul Weller, Johnny Marr and Billy Bragg and received wide critical
acclaim across the globe. We have a team that will make a fantastic film! and our ambition is to make a film worthy of the bicycle and its history which will have a lasting impact.
"Bicycle
will receive its World Premiere in early July 2014 to coincide with the Tour de France cycle race
Grand Depart in Yorkshire.
The film will be
screened in cinemas across the UK whilst being released on DVD and Digital and
Terrestrial TV. Through key media partnerships, PR and a strong social media
campaign, the film will reach a very wide audience of cycle enthusiasts and
beyond. The film will also travel across many borders reaching a significant
audience both in the UK and
internationally.
Whatever amount your support, it is really important to the success of the film!
Thank You
