Our Story
"Blossoms for Clara" is a SAG short film that fuses drama, rhythm and jazz, drawing heavily on the influence of the great Duke Ellington and stars the lovely JASMINE GUY!
I'd never been into jazz music, but as I listened to some Ellington one night, the music spoke to me. The film takes us through the life of aging jazz pianist Hank Elliot as he searches to find closure after his wife's death. Hank's story is told using Duke's music as a backdrop to express the moods and experiences that he encounters.
As I began to flesh out my ideas for actually producing the film, I brought my friend DIANA SUBER on board and we went to work making this idea a reality.

The Impact
This project is important!
Even a very SMALL contribution on your part represents and affirms the simple principle that when you believe in an idea strongly enough, the resources you need will present themselves. We've been fortunate enough to raise some money outside of IndieGoGo,
so we have just enough to shoot. But here's the catch- the very fate of
this film rests in POST production. We've decided to use all our
funding from IndieGoGo to actually see the film through to completion.
What good is a movie that is shot but never made? With $5,000 we can piece together what we've created, sweeten the all-important soundtrack and take the film from raw scraps to a polished product. Once that's done, we'll have something we can all be proud to show the world. Your contribution is

We really can't thank everyone enough for breathing life into this film. The shoot went very well, everything that COULD have gone wrong did NOT (and that's a very rare thing on a movie set). We are officially in post-production now and THIS is where the fun (and hard work) really begins. We still need as much help as possible to move the film successfully into its finished form. Check out the trailer we've put together. We're right on track to finish in early February. Then it's to festivals for Academy consideration. Even $10 helps!
