A new way to research
Brodlist starts with data from Wikipedia (all books, films, people, music, etc.) and it will increase to add census information, health data and more.
What's special about it, is that it gives everyone the chance explore all of that data in a way that's simple and fun. You can draw comparisons, visualize the data, graph it, map it. Ask new questions you had to be a specialist to be able to ask before. Students, teachers, journalists, researchers and business people can benefit from no longer having to live with what's handed to them, but can go out and do their own research.
The web site will be free to use and open to the public. For
programmers, it will also have a REST API available to use within their
applications.
The founder, David Broderick, has over 20 years as an IT consultant and has spent many years with two Ph.D. students completing the research behind this technology.
The impact is that people everywhere will be smarter, being able to do their own research and own analysis. Wikipedia was a great first step in accumulating our collective knowledge. This is the next step.
What We Need & Your Impact
But we need your help. We're looking for €5,000 to get us through these final stages. It will be used to:
- Productionize and enhance the current functional prototype.
- Bring to completion the first phase of the web interface.
- Finish loading the data from Wikidata (data from Wikipedia).
The impact you will have is nothing less than helping us realize this release and being a part of a project that enhances knowledge and understanding everywhere.
What You Get
Your assistance toward making this a reality is invaluable to us. Some of the rewards we offer as a small token of appreciation are :
- A personal thank you video message from the team and your name listed as a supporter on the website
- Access to an early release version personalized just for you.
- A beautiful, limited-edition Brodlist American Apparel t-shirt
And there's more. Everyone who supports us toward our goal is considered a part of our extended team.
