How does it work?

Caddieye Rangefinder technology is based on regular distance meter. It utilizes a powerful laser pulse, which is aimed at the target by using optics. Reception optics include a filter, which lets only a particular wavelength of light to receiver. This eliminates sunlight and other disturbances, which would otherwise affect measuring. The technique is based on measuring the time between sending the laser pulse and receiving it from desired target. Caddieye can be recalibrated as many times as required, so it can be used with multiple phones.

Caddieye Rangefinder is controlled by Arm Cortex-M3 -based microcontroller. The measurement results are sent via Bluetooth connection to your smartphone, which in turn displays the results as camera images with an integrated application view. The device is controlled by phone, and target selected with phone’s touch screen. The smartphone’s camera works as binoculars for the device; this has enabled reducing the size of the gadget to minimum. The phone camera object detection is also utilized in measuring.

Which phone models are suitable for Caddieye rangefinder?

You must have Android or iOS platform phone. Caddieye attaches to the rails to the phone so it is suitable for most phone models. 

No. You must have a camera on your smartphone. In addition, the better the camera, the easier it is to use the Caddieye Rangefinder.

Caddieye’s shell is water repellent. However, it should be remembered that as the Caddieye Rangefinder contains high-quality electronics, we recommend keeping the device dry.
