The Impact
In addition to the fantastic support we're receiving to produce this film from our sponsors, we've also partnered with the Canadian Canoe Foundation, a charitable organization that develops watershed-focused environmental education projects and sends Canadian youth on canoe-trip learning adventures. CCF objectives are to educate communities about sustainability and to provide youth with a ‘hands-on’ education regarding Canada’s natural heritage and the importance of protecting our wilderness areas and waterways. The CCF believe's (and so do we) that canoe trips provide a trans-formative environmental education that cannot be achieved in the classroom.
It's environmental education that inspires many people to become passionate about protecting their local waters and the canoe is the perfect educational vehicle.
We hope that through this film we will inspire people to get outdoors, be active, value the canoe as an important part of our culture and heritage, and explore.

What People Are Saying
"At the Canadian Canoe Museum
we're looking for new and fresh ways to bring the canoe alive and make its teachings
relevant and the film Canoe: Icon of the North may be just the thing. Suddenly, you've got a vehicle
and a path to explore ideas that might just shake comfortable complacent Canadians
out of our torpor of privilege and help us on our way. It would be very cool to
use the journey as a passage into enlightenment which could, in the end, affirm
old truths or truisms or establish new ways to interpret, understand and appreciate
the canoe as an icon of the north." - James Raffan, The Canadian Canoe Museum
"The
canoe has a great historical significance in Canada and we are very proud of
the international success Canada has had in the sport. We are interested in
your film, Canoe: Icon of the North and with our mutual interest in canoeing,
we are pleased to support it however we can." - Ian Miller, CanoeKayak Canada
Our Supporters and Sponsors
The Producer and entire film crew of
Canoe: Icon of the North, are thankful for the generous support that we’ve
received from our contributors and sponsors. Without their contributions our
movie and the promotions that we're able to offer would not have been
possible.
