Cabbagetown Classical Youth Choir
Short Summary
Our mandate is to locate gifted children between the ages of 7 and 20 and to offer them the opportunity to develope their voices along classical singing lines, regardless of their ability to pay the fees attached to professional lessons. We expect to showcase the talents of the CCYC publicly as often as possible, on stages, TV and in other Cabbagetown and GTA venues.
What We Need & What You Get
We're currently seeking funds to assist with the production of our
Annual Spring Concert which is also a fundraiser for the our non-profit organization.
This year's show will feature renowned Gary Relyea as the Commendatore in an event dedicated to the Da Ponte operas (Mozart's Don Giovanni, Cosi fan tutte, and Le Nozze di Figaro).
The concert is the culmination of a month long operatic workshow held by the Cabbagetown Classial Youth Choir.
Date: June 15th, 2013 - Heliconian Hall, 35 Hazelton Ave, Toronto, ON.
The Impact
Operating a children's choir for largely disadvantaged youths is one way in which
Daniel Eby of Maestro Enterprises International is giving back to the Cabbagetown community of Toronto.
Finding young singers interested in an operatic career is one thing, getting there is another altogether. In order to provide a wholesome alternative to children who might otherwise find trouble on the streets of Toronto, we need to be able to afford these children the opportunity to develop thier voices without the pressure of paying.
Other Ways You Can Help
We also also seeking funding for upcoming tour of Amahl and the Night Visitors by Gian Carlo Menotti.
Last year we successfully stage this production at St. Peter's Anglican Church in downtown Toronto. This year our aim is to move this production around the Greater Toronto Area.
If you would like to assist our production, please consider one of our Memberships in the perk section.
