THE CLOKE CAMPAIGN

Hello all and thank you for visiting my indiegogo campaign to raise funds for the project Cloke. 

I am Nathaniel Kemp. A Las Vegas photographer who just completed his first photo art book entitled Cloke. This project has become bigger than my imagination, and I really want to share it with the world. The messages and meanings within Cloke are very dear to me. Starting the project in a depression state, I was able to translate through my photography and poetry what many of African American men go through daily. There is a light that shines in us still, and I followed the light to completion of this book. This has been a journey of triumph. It took almost 2 years to complete and well worth the wait and time. I've personally shot, wrote, and created the project from start to finish. I've invested a lot of time and my own money to make this happen. It is complete, and now it is ready for the public. 

My vision is to have a creative exhibition in New York City. This exhibit will showcase the work of Cloke as well as feature printed copies of the book. It is very costly to print the art work and books. This is where the support of you all come in. I need your help with funding this exhibition and the printing of the book Cloke. 

Creating the 1000 Strong Campaign was the idea to get 1000 supporters donating $25 towards my budgeted goal. I ask for your support in donations and in sharing. This is the only way I will reach my goal. Together we can.

The Book

  CLOKE is a book about the skin of black men featuring poetry, which examines some life experiences of an ethnic man in America.

  The contents of this book represent a personal journey as well as that of other ethnic men in America. It’s meant to share the joy, pain, adversity, as well as happiness of these men, to express our thoughts, and give the reader a glimpse into our emotional experiences. There is history in our eyes, struggle in our veins, and God in our souls. It’s time the world see the beauty, courage, and strength in us.

The Exhibition

Exhibit featuring work from the Art Book Cloke

Showcasing the 100-page book Cloke, the exhibit will give a sophisticated dramatic experience of Cloke through its images and poetry. Bringing together a group of novelist, artist, and media alike for a journey into the inner thoughts of Black men in America.

The Photographer

Born and raised in SE, Washington, DC, Nathaniel always saw beauty where others saw struggle. He looked at things from the positive side and appreciated the little things in life. No stranger to hunger, hardship, discrimination, and social stigmas, he persevered through adversity with dreams and visions of a different world. Learning to create his own world, Nathaniel picked up a disposable camera capturing people, things, and moments of life therein.  

1000 STRONG GOAL

The 1000 Strong goal is very simple. I am trying to get 1000 supporters to at least contribute $25 so that I can reach my budgeted goal. 1000 strong is more than donations. It is about a movement. The spread of the project throughout at least 1000 true supporters and believers will have a greater impact on the project and it's awareness. 

I know that everyone may not be able to donate $25. I know that some may be able to donate more. So I've created this campaign here to add some perks for your help, support, and contribution. This is to show my gratitude for your support.
