// FILM SYNOPSIS

COME DOWN is a dystopian Sci Fi short film set in a futuristic city constantly consumed by rave music. Everyday life is a monotonous, never ending bender. The streets covered with thumping speakers, neon lights and tough, authoritarian law enforcement. The citizens of the city are encouraged to continually take psychoactive substances, something heavily regulated. The most illegal object to have in your possession? …headphones, or any paraphernalia that can block out sound and give you peace.

Joe is an inhabitant of the city, stumbling through its repetitive drug and music drenched routine. He is in a relationship with Ja, worried that her secretive use of headphones to drown out the sounds of the world that overwhelms them will put them at risk.

ABOUT THE FILM

Come Down is a Sci Fi short film written and directed by Lorenzo Nera. This short has long been a very personal passion project of his. Principal photography was completed early this year and the live action aspects of the film were all shot in East London, including an impressive dystopian set built at The Old Trumans Brewery in Shoreditch.

It’s been a long road of us putting together the material in the editing room!

Part of the excitement and challenge is the large scale of VFX that is being used, including the digital construction of the drug induced city environment, the production of 3D fractal imagery and hallucinatory alterations of the footage.

Another aspect of our post production is the specialised development of music and composition being created especially for the project to fill the claustrophobic spaces of the film's chaotic city.

Come Down is really a film using all the possible creative areas of filmmaking to create an absolutely compelling audio, visual and emotional journey for our audience to enjoy and thrive in! What makes Come Down so unique is the extremely personalised, grass roots approach to filmmaking, as well as the highly involved use of music, visual effects and animation to enhance the narrative of this futuristic world.

Film making is an expensive business! There’s a lot of areas to cover that go beyond just the preparation and shooting of the material. We’ve come a long way so far, but now need your support in our Post Production in order to complete our film and our futuristic dystopia rave dream!

The colour grading of the film is the final touch to the aesthetic image quality of our project. This is to enhance our overall visual style in order to give you, our audience, the best viewing experience possible!

// SOUND MIX

Our sound mix is a big one! Our incredible team is creating and composing the soundtrack for our film, as well as collaborating with some new and emerging music producers to really create a captivating and heart thumping experience. Sound Mix & Design is the final stage to create the audible landscape that will consume our characters and audience!

// FESTIVALS

We want to get our film out there! Submitting to festivals all over the world is a huge stage for a completed project and we want to make our film accessible to as many audiences worldwide as possible!

// VFX

Although we've been working hard putting together the basic foundations of VFX into the narrative of our edit, we’re at a stage now where we need to fine tune and deliver the best quality of VFX production in order to make it the most compelling and absorbing it can be!
