The short film “Condom Lead” by the Gazan directors Tarazan and Arab needs your help to be finalized.
Identical twins Tarzan and Arab, born and raised in Gaza, are two of the most unique filmmakers you will ever meet. In February this year, after four years working in the film industry in Gaza, the brothers went to Jordan and with the help of local production companies and a crew of Jordan film industry’s most talented young Filmmakers, shot the short film ‘Condom Lead’.
For Tarzan and Arab this has been a completely new experience and important step in their promising careers. “For the first time we have had the chance to work with proper equipment and professional crew. This has been our first real “cinema” experience.”
The short film, now in the final stages of post-production, has been sent to premier at some of the world’s most prestigious film festivals. Tarzan and Arab are now searching for the funds to ensure this film has the professional finish it deserves.
What we need
In order to give our film a professional finish and a chance on the international festival circuit we need the following:
$1000 for color correction and grading.
$800 for final sound mixing and mastering.
$3500 for the visual effects and animation.
$1000 for promotional support materials (website, DVDs, posters, prints…)
$400 hard drives for data storage and screening purposes.

Synopsis
The last brutal offensive in Gaza, given the name "Cast Lead" by the Israeli Army, went on for 22 endless days. Just like any place in the world wracked by conflict, the people of the Strip experienced unbelievable tension, anxiety, and loss of hope. Sex, perhaps the most essential mode of human connection and communication, was universally jettisoned for more pressing concerns, such as food, fuel, electricity, and the search – elusive though it may be – for physical and psychological safety, security, and equilibrium. This makes sense: during war, sex becomes a kind of no-fly zone; the sexual instinct is perturbed, and the conjugal bed is worn-out with worry over when the next bomb will hit. Even if we manage to overcome the fear and make a mental break from the imminent dangers in our surroundings, the sheer exigency of the machines of war – the airplanes and tanks, the ambulances and missiles, the constant hum of their moving parts, the ground-shaking force of their explosions – will always win out over the most triumphant acts of human will.
